Who’s in a Blazer uniform at the start of next regular season?

Will Saturday be Melo’s final game as a Blazer? Whiteside? ......CJ’s final game?

Blazers roster
Players sitting out: Trevor Ariza (sitting out), Rodney Hood (Achilles surgery)

BOTH OF THE ABOVE WILL START NEXT SEASON IN A BLAZER UNIFORM

Biggies final game has passed already as has Moses Brown I'd say

I'm gonna be honest... I don't even give a shit anymore. This is the most apathetic I have been about our team in my entire life.

You should have put McCollum at the top, because if that salary domino falls, others still stand. It's the reverse-domino theory.

Nothing is gonna change. We're gonna run it back and do jack shit next season.

True. The change will finally come when the owner has a quasi-religious epiphany, which may or may not include selling the team.

Gone for sure:
Biggie
Whiteside
Mario (to Barcelona)

Very likely gone:
Melo

Obviously not going anywhere:
Dame
CJ
Nurk
Trent
Little
Wenyen
Zach (but just because he's injured)
Hood

No reason to be gone:
Adams (he wasn't signed just for the Bubble)
Hoard
Brown (still VERY young, and might get minutes with Whiteside gone)

Will very probably be kept:
Ariza (not least because an expiring contract is valuable)

Likely a couple very minor changes but history tells us Olshey won't make any major moves.....other than letting major pieces go for nothing. He's quite proficient at that.

Thats a pretty good assumption unfortunately.

id love to bring Melo aNd Whiteside back as vet bench players on good contracts though. If Ant could get consistent ( which you left off your list) he could work well with those two off the bench i think.
id like to see Mario be replaced with a better 3pt shooter to put with them as well.

if that happened id be content and hopefull a healthy squad could contend. We need to remember. This team as of now, vs the lakers, has not found itself. Yes, Dame went crazy in the bubble, but the team hasn't defined and perfected their cohesion.
I tbink if we could keep them together and go into next season, the players will have more defined roles, and trust in the team.

Sometimes that's not a bad thing. Whitsitt should've done that with Brian Grant, and kept Jermaine O'Neal. Instead we ended up with Shawn Kemp.

Is this your prediction or your wish?

I hope you're right about Mario.

Gone for sure
Whiteside (his performance in the bubble has been disappointing)
Biggie
Moses
Hoard

Olshey listen to offers but ultimately keep
CJ (I do want to trade him for a wing though)
Ariza
Collins
Hood
Simons

Blazers forever
Damian
Nurkic
Trent
Gabriel

Wild card
Melo (what does he actually want to do next year?)
Mario (He has his player option, does he want to stay and keep being a bust or go back to Europe where he can dominate?)

This is my prediction as well. Tough to have a winning record next year, playoffs unlikely. West is tough. Gsw willbe back in the mix so portland won't be

Of this season's lotto teams in the west, who is likely to be in the race next season?

GSW (almost a lock)
Memphis (spent much of this season in 8th)
Suns (came on strong at the end and may have finally turned the corner)
Pelicans (media favorite, but not sure I see it)
TWolves (cmon, they can't keep wasting chances forever, can they?)

Western play-offs race could be a bloodbath. If Olshey thinks he can just stand still, we are screwed.

Whiteside, Biggie, and Moses are gone. Everyone else returns. Yes, even Hezonja unfortunately

DeRozan might be interesting as a SF

If we traded Ariza, did not re-sign Whiteside, a backcourt made up of:

Dame, CJ, DeRozan
Off the bench: Trent, Carmelo, Adams

and with Nurkic, Hoard, Collins and a free-agent Center

Dame, CJ, Nurk, Hoody, GT, Trevor, Zach, Simons, Nassir, Hoard. Mario has an option, but hopefully heads overseas. I would love for Melo to return, and i think it's possible. Important to keep Melo IMO. He fits. Add a free agent shooter and Backup center. Time for Hassan to move on. The motor just isn't there on a consistent basis. But i appreciate his efforts this year. Playoff performance though was poor.

Maybe it is just the "another 1st round exit" hangover, but outside of Dame and maybe Trent I'm completely indifferent to this roster.

The team that fielded Clyde, Terry, Jerome, Buck, Duck, and Cliffy might as well have existed in another dimension. That was a bunch of guys to really root for. (and yeah, I am well aware they weren't perfect either on or off the court)

You can't say "another 1st round exit" when we didn't have a 1st round exit last season.

Also- a great thing about the Clyde/Terry team was that we kept the starting lineup and coach together for several years with the only tweak being adding Buck Williams. And we went from first round exit in 1989 to Finals in 1990 so adding that one perfect player without blowing things up could get us to Finals too.

This is a group of guys to really root for. I've been a fan since '77, and i love this group. Character and heart galore. And the Blazers Greatest player ,DAME, IMO. Drexler seems to think his Houston years were his best.
