Third best player?

It would be better for the Nets if Simmons was ahead of Yi and the other kids. I think he will be, and I really like what I've seen of Yi so far.

There are no votes for Najera, but he could have more of an effect on the win column than anyone. Look at his 82games.com stats last year and what he meant to the Nuggets.

If Najera has a bigger impact on wins than any of Boone, Lopez, Yi, Anderson, and Williams, the Nets are in trouble. That's not to knock what Najera brings as a total package to a team, especially in practice, as a mentor, as a locker room voice, and as an energy guy that can infuse life into a tired or lackluster effort. I liked the move to sign him, especially after reading comments from Nuggets fans that have seen more of him than I have.

But I've seen enough of him from both his Dallas and Denver days to be convinced that he doesn't have enough tangible, refined basketball skills to be the most effective big man on a playoff team, and, so long as the young guys are giving a Najera-caliber effort, I hope Eddie doesn't see too many minutes. Ideally, I would like to see him play big minutes against certain teams when matchups and fouls are really giving the younger bigs problems and few to no minutes against teams where the young bigs are producing reasonably well. I really think development of the youth has to be paramount this year.

Simmons is not going back in time to his Clippers days. Some people need to understand that. He has suffered major injuries in the past few years and I highly doubt we'll be seeing that level of play from him.

I can't really say who the 3rd best player on the team is since the truth is, I have no idea what to expect from anyone other than Najera (decent play in limited minutes, priceless hustle) and Dooling (some offense, mainly perimeter defense and a good sub for Harris). I've never really seen Yi, Lopez, Anderson or CDR play. Boone probably won't be that much better than he was last year, but then again I'm happy with him as he is. He's not going to be the 3rd best player on the team though, maybe the most consistent out of our youngsters. Williams is a mystery. All the pressure is on him to prove himself vs Lopez, Najera and Yi.

From the way the Nets were thinking, right after the draft it would have been Yi or Lopez. They were high on both. Now they're talking up Sean. I think Boone will be the most consistent but I think Yi will get the most publicity.

Have they been major? I know he's had a few injuries, but I wasn't sure the severity.

Anyone know what they were?

Ryan Anderson or Sean Williams. gulp.
Now, seriously what happened to Pegs?

I need to see Yi and Lopez play but i voted Yi as a guess.
