I would like to have a response from the mods, I know they don't like to deal with this, but just letting us know 1) what their thinking was, 2) is it a suspension or a ban, and 3) if it is a ban are they going to keep the loophole open of letting him just use the next in a long line of different accounts to rejoin in a few days under one more pseudonym.

If a man, A, who weighs 11 stone
leaves from his home at 8:30 in the morning
in a car whose consumption is 16.25 mpg

and also puts air in one of his tyres
which has a slow puncture

and he picks up a hitch-hiker B
who weighs 14 stone plus suitcase
But hitch-hiker B who is a political activist
distributes leaflets from his suitcase
each of which weigh an ounce
at the scale of 2 leaflets per person
at every bus stop
and every vehicle on either side of them
at every red traffic light during the journey
which includes 20 bus stops
with an average of 6 people per stop
5 lorries each with a passenger
one of which exchanged a Yorkie Bar
weighing an ounce for 12 of the leaflets
and 2 coaches each containing 51 people
7 of which from one coach returned the leaflets
and 16 people from the other coach
who asked for a further leaflet
each for a member of one of their families

Assuming that man A

IMO, PapaG posted his opinion and others disagreed. He responded in a pretty harmless way in both cases, being hard on Robin Williams and Greg Oden.

This place has gone emo.

As I mentioned multiple times, it was deleted by the mods and there is no public record of it. I still have the resulting PM exchange with the mods, and Denny, but not the original post.

I have no problem talking about all of this, I'm not here to be a secret all powerful overlord.

1) After his last banning the majority of the mod staff did not want to allow PapaG back. Denny and I wanted to find a way to bring him back but only if he wouldn't get so riled up at times. We had the dinner for the winners of the creative contest coming up. The prize was dinner for 4, HCP, BlazerWookee, HomerLovesKoolAid and myself. I thought this would have been a great environment to have met and talked with PapaG. So I contacted him outside of this forum and gave him my free dinner. I know all of these guys, they're really great guys and this would have been the perfect time and place to talk with PapaG like a real person and not just the anonymous blowhards that we are online.

Unfortunately PapaG had to cancel at the very last moment.

Now, I don't agree with or understand the comparison of PapaG and Mixum. Mixum trolled the forum to provoke arguments and fights. Now PapaG when he is not arguing and fighting with someone is a very passionate and knowledgeable Blazer fan. They are not the same creature. This forum is for Blazer fans. I wanted to see if there was way to make it work for PapaG because we all know he loves this team.

I made this argument to the staff and I said we should allow him back. At the same time it was agreed upon and I made it very clear to PapaG that the behavior that had gotten him into trouble and banned in the past had to stop. No ifs, ands or buts. The insults, the arguments, everything. I even suggested to him that he stay away from the OT section and just post in the main forum because he does get a little more worked up in the off topic section than he does the regular forum (yes, with the exception of LMA trades, lol).

Last night: It doesn't matter who started what or who said what first, the fact is PapaG was having huge arguments in two different threads with two different people when he very clearly knew that he was not suppose to do that anymore. I asked him publicly to stop, I asked him privately to stop. You can see I tried to just have a normal conversation with him in hope that he would stop arguing but he was having none of it. I spoke privately with Denny and he and I decided to but an end to it.

2) Permanent Ban. That was his last last last chance.

3) We compare new accounts when we see them to IP addresses used by past and current members. If we see that he is posting on here under an IP address that he has used before we will ban that moniker. If he gets a new IP address we really have no idea if that is or is not PapaG. We're not going to start instantly banning all new monikers like Fez wanted us to do during the Timberwolf fan Oden dic pic invasion. If you think someone is PapaG bring it to our attention and we will look into it but don't be disappointed if that new person isn't instantly banned.

In summary, I really wanted it to work. I like PapaG, I don't like his need to fucking argue and argue but I've had some great conversations with him publicly and privately over the years. I wanted this to work bad enough that I was willing to give up a free dinner and I love free dinners at nice restaurants.

I remember that thread, and I knew he'd be a no-show because of the following history. After arranging meetings on this board about 5 times in the last couple of years, he never showed up once. Everytime the host was excited when Papa said he'd be there; then the person posted in disappointment that Papa hadn't shown; only then did Papa acknowledge in the thread his absence the previous day. He cancelled at the last moment a couple of times in a thread (like 1 hour notice), but usually his habit was to surprise with his absence. At one event, he said that he'd gone for a minute, stayed near the door, and hadn't talked to anyone. Everyone there posted that they hadn't seen him.

I kept track of this pattern because on ESPN, he used to belittle me for not going to meetings (I live in Bellingham). We'd debate about some issue and suddenly he'd get personal with that tool in his arsenal. I guess I'm the only one he ever got personal with...
