Why I think this is Terry Stotts last game as a Blazer coach

I thought the OP was worthy of discussion. My reasoning for removing Terry is just to infuse change. Getting stale, even with the first round win. I wanna see what Dame can do with someone else running the show and change in strategy.

Terry is the longest tenured coach after Pop, Spoelstra, and Carlisle. Don't think he's in that tier to warrant this longevity. Also, he'll be a lame duck coach next season if there is no contract extension this summer. It's a good time for change

I get your point but failure to remove that crap could be seen as an endorsement of it.

Also I never want this forum to show up under a google search of Blazers and N word.

Was my lightwork handled by my allies? Yup. It's in the thread (THANKS Y'ALL!!!)

I just logged in and this MF was already:
  • Admonished by everyone in the thread.
  • Posts were deleted.
  • He was banned.
I didn't have to lift a finger or even complain. This is ALL apparent in this thread for all to see.

The TrailBlazers have never been associated with racism or the N word (People are too busy googling Trump's racism).

Let his post remain and change his word to N*****.

Remember when he basically said he had the highest BBIQ in the forum?

He touts is intelligence but doesn't understand how STUPID it is to be blatantly racist in public view.

This is exactly why I prefer the overt version of racism. It's much more comforting to know my enemy.

We have a better top 3 and our bench is twice as deep.

The problem is, Stotts does not trust his bench for whatever reason, and no team ever won a championship without a major contribution from the bench.

I would add that a coach who doesn't trust his bench by playoff time has let the team down, not the other way around.

I expect he'll shake it up a bit tonight.

Also, he'll be a lame duck coach next season if there is no contract extension this summer.

This is a good thing. Maybe he'll bring in a defensive guy? We're playing the analytics too much there IMO.

Exactly. Seems to me that if it's his last year on his contract, he would do anything and everything possible to bring us a big win.

Why are people so surprised??? I mean really??? :dunno:

Are we more surprised that he has this worldview??

-Or-

Are we more surprised that he would espouse such a worldview in public?

I anticipated this question, its the same one I had. As a white person, I think its always shocking (unless you hang with these type of pieces of shit). Should it be? Nope. But it is. When it rears its ugly head like this, no matter how much we know this is out there, its still shocking. Always. Its always so bad that you don't have words. So while I am not surprised that someone can have this world view, at the same time, yes, its beyond surprising to shocking. I just don't get it, I guess.

It wasn't just the n word, it was all the other crap. And then when he ended it by saying it didn't want to be a minority wanted to make me bash my head against my desk.

And motherfucker I come from PORTLAND....

DUMBASS....

When I was born I was black
When I was sad I was black
When I was hot I was black
When I was sick I was black

When you was sad you was blue
When you was hot you was red
When you was sick you was green
When you was scared you was yellow

And you call me colored

It is never shocking to me.

Ever... :dunno:

It's a "cost of doing business" (being black and living in America).

I'm not surprised that people have those world views, or that they espouse them in public. It's just gut-wrenching to watch one person treat another person like that... It's not shocking, just sad. Definitely makes me as a white guy sit back and think, I hope I'm on the right side of those problems, and that I'm teaching my kids to not act like that.

I just think Terry is doing a good job. If the situation were reversed - if we had our 2nd best player in Nurk and they were missing their 2nd best player in Murray - how would the series be going I wonder. Being that close to the WCF even without Nurk is commendable in my opinion. Change for change sake backfires more often than not, especially when the core of the team loves him. The grass is not always greener.

when I was born I was pink

then I got hairy
then I got fat
there's only one way this ends

After the seasons officially over, I will probably go through and pay closer attention to the x’s and o’s of their playoff games, I’ll be honest Ive been so wrapped up in the games that i haven't paid as much attention to all the action as I normally do. Im kind of withholding judgement til I have more time to process it and its not raw. My only critiques right now is why is ET playing? Also why didnt he try ML earlier in the series? Not that you can “give away” any game but its crazy to think in the game that is literally their season they’ll be experimenting to see if ML can do anything on Jokic...

My favorite part was "I don't want to think they're stupid."

Having spent most of my life around white people, I definitely know that most white people are fucking morons. Hell, half of the people on this forum are mouth breathers :devilwink:

I'm not saying this to be combative.

It's because for the most part, white people never really experience racism. That's why it's so shocking. That's why it's shocking to white people that Trump won the presidency.
