I used to call on State agencies that purchased equipment and on occasion Id have a buyer tell me if they didnt use their budget for the FY the next one would be lower. Spend it or lose it. Easy enough?
Thats how surplus is built in many respects with the State.

Gov. Ron DeSantis isn’t letting his feud with California’s Governor go.

In an email to donors Friday with a call to action urging his list to “rush in a donation,” the Governor’s reelection campaign invoked Gavin Newsom and the Golden State in his pitch.

Newsom and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, DeSantis contended, flouted the COVID-19 precautions they advocated.

“While these draconian rules were ruining people’s lives, Nancy Pelosi was getting her hair done in a salon she made sure was shut down for everyone else. Gavin Newsom was dining indoors at restaurants that were otherwise closed to the rest of the population,” DeSantis fumed.

The email writ large bemoaned the “Left” and its “woke ideologies” and desire to “move the goal post down the field” in its zeal to “command complete and total control over the American people.” It rehashed increasingly familiar tropes, including the contention that Florida is “where woke goes to die” and that the state would not become a “woke dumpster fire” under his watch.

But, quite arguably, the attempt to again capitalize on the Newsom antagonism suggests that the California Democrat’s $100,000 pledge to Charlie Crist may end up benefiting him in terms of earned media and Florida exposure. And DeSantis, always in search of a foil, seems to be embracing that feud.

Proof of that claim is that this appeal to donors wasn’t even the first attempt by Team DeSantis to cash in on the California conflict on Friday.

“Gavin Newsom’s obsession with Florida and Governor DeSantis continues to grow as he pledges $100,000 to Charlie Crist — the man who has already declared he doesn’t want your vote,” the email contends.

“It seems like Newsom has done his job encouraging filth and debauchery on the streets of San Francisco that he’s now set his sights on our state. … Charlie has made it clear that if you want Florida to turn into a crime-ridden homeless encampment and open-air drug market where drag shows and vaccines are required at school, he’s your guy.”

As we’ve noted before, polling shows the feud is good for both politicians. Polling in Newsom’s home state shows DeSantis competitive with Trump in a still-hypothetical GOP Primary in two years, with Newsom at the top of a crowded and diffuse field of hypothetical candidates on the other side.

Florida's higher costs of health insurance are due in part because employers aren't shouldering as much of the premium costs as in other states. It is an issue, though.

Texas being a huge shithole has virtually nothing to do with border security. It’s the ignorant racist fucks running this state, and the uneducated people that help keep this state red.

I do give you credit for acknowledging this fact, which do far as I know DeSantis has never done in public. Regardless, you need a new god emperor. A smarter, younger, slightly less blatantly corrupt Trump. Someone to worship. So he can do no wrong. Whatever he does or says must be praised. Attacks on democracy, or actual people suffering, can't even be acknowledged as collateral damage.

Florida is filled with people on Social Security living off their 401K accounts...it's a retirement state, not a bustling tech hub for a young work force. California is one of the biggest agricultural producers in the world. After the bullshit anti Mexican cult Trump brought to our govt....the labor force in agriculture suffered and still is. Big difference. Florida doesn't have the tech hub that California does nor the industrial complexity. Employers aren't shouldering as much in Florida because a huge chunk of the state is retired. Perspective is important....not Nancy Pelosi getting her hair done without a mask....that's a pretty shallow dig considering the resisitance to masks your party has shown for 3 years now. Trump visited a vaccine facility without a mask and caused them to throw away thousands of doses of vaccine...again...your leader setting a horrible example for people to follow and now DeSantis is doing the same thing...fuck Florida, the GOP and Ron DeSantis. Find better people to prop up. Florida is also the cocaine import capitol of the country...lots of money floating around that industry.

Yet so many people still don't want to actually work for a living. Why is that?

At any rate, more people are fleeing California (by far) than in Florida. With all of California's amazing natural resources, it should be the gem of our country. However, many call it the laughing stock. Chalk it up to crappy leadership.

Tennessee, Florida and Texas are all laughing stocks ...many call them that including me. California has suffered major forest fire damage over the last few years....as to the labor shortage....Trump chased away the farmers and lettuce pickers over the color of their skin...the people who actually built California. You aren't going to pick oranges for a living I'm pretty sure or pick lettuce. You shouldn't be pointing fingers at politicians outside your own state.....Tennessee just arrested one of your ex leaders for corruption...you are the home of several of the largest white supremacist organizations on earth who are also your voting buddies. Southern California...home to Reagan and Nixon...you'll find a big GOP presence south of Santa Barbara....polls....polls said Hillary would win. Those latinos are not picking lettuce either...they are renting properties and looking for that golf club membership. You never catch onto the context of these things....not surprised.
