DeathSantis still can't bring himself to say Nazis are bad but goes after a restaurant.
This stupid anti woke shit is just him, like his mentor Trump, using his office to reward his supporters and punish anyone who criticizes him.
Florida has a huge housing shortage, 22,000 Floridians with disabilities still on waiting list for service but he won't govern, he's too busy owning the libs.

It works for the dumbest of the dumb. We see it here firsthand

From your article.

South Carolina Bankers Association president and CEO Fred Green, who spoke at last week’s subcommittee hearing, doesn’t believe the legislation is necessary.

“When I first saw the bill, my first thought was, ‘Banks, No. 1, don’t do it (use ESG scores); and No. 2, can’t do it,’” he said when contacted this week by The Nerve.

Green, who noted he was in the banking business for “40-some” years, most of it “in the senior ranks of running a bank,” said his organization polled approximately 70 banks that do business in the state – about 40 of which are headquartered in South Carolina and the remainder based out of state – asking them whether they currently are using ESG scores and whether they intend to do so in the future.

“There was 100% response, and the response was ‘no’ and ‘no,’” he said.

I know. But, after all, it's South Carolina. What this will really boil down to is the mid-terms. You just watch.

It's sadly hilarious that no matter what DeSantis says it suddenly becomes an all-important issue to ABM.

If you hadn't noticed, many eyes are on DeSantis. What he says matters if he's to be a formidable contestant for POTUS in '24.

Now trying to take away the restaurant's liquor license. Too cowardly to say Nazis are bad but will go after small business and drag queens.

Do you know where I live the local library had a Pride event for children? They made origami rainbows with kind messages written on them and had story time. And a unicorn!

Haven't heard anyone was harmed.

The real legacy of Trump, aside from packing courts with judges who want to bring the country back to the 1850s, is viciousness.

It's not accomplishments. He had two major legislative accomplishments, a huge tax cut for the rich, and allowing people with serious mental illness to buy guns.
It's permission to be your worst. All the behavior we are taught not to do, all the things you can't say at work or in school.

Used to be, with few exceptions, politicians across all ideologies wanted to convince voters they were a nice guy/a lady, an affable person with whom you would like to have a beer, clean living and god fearing, pet dogs, kiss babies. In 2016 the more vicious, vulgar, rude, crude and offensive Trump was, the more his cult cheered and that is now the modus operandi for Republicans. Insult, name calling, threats, actual violence. Abusing women in particular is admired. Kick those who are down and then spit on them. Look at any Republican primary debate, all trying to out-nasty one another.

I read an article recently by some folks who went to a music festival in upstate New York, at a college, a liberal island in a very conservative area. Driving through they encountered loads of signs saying things like "liberal hunting license" and guns guns guns. Then when they got to the campus it was rainbow flags and Black Lives Matter signs.

It's not a matter of Republicans trying to solve problems in a way with which I disagree. It's a matter of being, in the words of a mediocre but profane rap album, as nasty as we want to be. That's what their supporters want. Fuck governing. Just be outrageous. DeathSantis understands this, he was a back bench congressman until Trump supported him for governor. Pence, aside from being seen as a traitor, doesn't.

That library needs to have its liquor license taken away.

I mean, who'd want to be on The View?

Send in the Marines: Ron DeSantis defends ex-military teachers over ed majors

'I'll take the Marine every day of the week and twice on Sunday.'

Gov. Ron DeSantis is vowing to “keep plowing forward” on plans to allow military veterans to teach in Florida classrooms, suggesting Wednesday that one may be better suited to teaching than an education major.

“You give me somebody who has four years of experience as a Devil Dog over somebody who has four years of experience at Shoehorn U and I will take the Marine every day of the week and twice on Sunday,” DeSantis said during a press conference in Brevard County.

DeSantis made the comments defending a Senate bill last year that allowed for an alternative pathway to teaching certification for military veterans, a measure that cleared the House and Senate unanimously, but which has become controversial since.

The bill allows for a five-year waiver from traditional certification requirements for teachers with military experience.

Part of the need for such a bill, the Governor said, was a need for more “talent” in schools.

“Another thing we did is we said, ‘OK, how can we get more talent into our school system?’ So we did a bill this past year that said if you have completed four years of active duty military and you have, I think, 60 hours of college coursework, you’re eligible. If you had a 2.5 GPA and passed whatever the tests are to pass, you get temporary certification.”

“You can work toward your degree,” DeSantis added. “But you can go in and contribute.”

The bill analysis suggested that the pathway to certification could fill persistent needs in Florida classrooms.

“The potential availability of additional educators, especially as Florida faces a teacher shortage in certain regions and in specific instructional subject matters could provide district school board with enhanced options and expanded personnel choices.”

“Experienced military leaders who have mentored and educated military service members for years may have skills and experiences that can translate easily to the classroom and would be a ready-made workforce for Florida’s public and charter schools and could address short and long-term workforce needs,” asserted the post-meeting analysis from the final Senate committee of reference for the bill.

The Governor then turned his fire on critics of the new law.

“You’ve got some people in the media or whatever who are criticizing this. You had the head of the teachers’ union in Sarasota criticize it, saying, ‘You can’t just throw any warm body into the classroom,” DeSantis said.

“Well, I’ll tell you something: people who have served our country are not just some ‘warm body.’ They have a lot to offer our communities.”

This is so fucking stupid it's hard to believe. No, merely serving in the military is not adequate teacher training.

Why not also allow people with experience in real estate to do heart transplant surgery?

ABM, you sure know how to pick 'em.

A lot of veterans use their GI Bill to get teaching degrees.....I did. DeSantis is full of shit....vets are also teachers with degrees in education. This is just partisan crap about educators being left wing liberals and that's as shallow as it gets. On second thought...don't take advice on education from people who failed high school for starters. You can teach primary school with a two year degree. I got my SLEP second language degree on my own dime going to night school after teaching public school all day in Hawaii. What you don't want are unqualified teachers no matter what sector they come from. Should be the same for politicians ...raise the fucking bar for being a legislator representing the country.

My father, an Army Ranger, is also a teacher. He got his master's degree in education.

Currently in Oregon there is a teacher shortage, almost anyone can get an emergency teaching certificate to substitute teach.

Not sure what any of this has to do with anything. DeSantis is a complete douche.

I think @ABM would give a reacharound to anyone the Republicans put out there. No matter what they believe in. Even if they told him to vote while have a stick up his butt.

Wrong again.

Hahahahaahahahahahahahah. You never cease to amaze me. There is no way you are a real person that believes this stuff.

When I said Stewart said nice things about DeSantis, we're talking about comparisons to Cruz. This certainly doesn't mean Stewart will be endorsing DeSantis anytime soon.

Jesus also said if you wanted to follow Him, you should hate your mother, brother, etc. He certainly wasn't saying that literally speaking. He was in the context of comparatives to loving Him.
