Some of the longest threads in here are trade proposals, and the monthly threads talking about the NBA. Theres a handful of fire “whoever” but I dont think its as bad as it seems.

It's all in the ey of the beholder and it's not that good. I think threads that have sat idle for a period of time should be locked so as not to continually bring back old worthless threads that likely get derailed again once they are brought back to life. I have never seen a forum drift off topic so easily in almost every thread.

I find this team entertaining and enjoyable to watch. I don't know what some of you expect, but I have watched a lot more NBA games outside of the Blazers this year and I see some great play at times and I see some horrible play at times from top teams. Pretty much the same as the Blazers.

But how is the team really different from the past three years? It's pretty much the same offense, the same story lines, etc. Dame carrying, CJ being inconsistent, etc. We are 7th in the west. Not good enough to really compete. It's stale.

7th in the west and 3.5 games out of first and 1/2 game from being a 4th seed. So you would be ok with a change even if it made us worse? Cause that's a possibility as well.

I would be okay if we made a change that made us worse in the short term, but better in the long term. Or a change that made us better in the short term but not as good in the long term. I'm just tired of finishing middle of the pack and getting ousted in the first round.

Unless you have a crystal ball, it could make us worst in the short term and long term. I;m not saying we shouldn't be looking for deals but with what I have read by posters in here many want a complete overhaul. I doubt Lillard would be interested sticking around for that.

A complete overhaul might be necessary. I really don't know. Dame is great, and I really like Nurk, but the rest of the team is just mediocre. CJ should have been what we all expected him to be from the start...... a spark plug off the bench. He should have been Jamal Crawford, but we have been trying to make him into a starting two guard for the past 4 years and he's predictably inconsistent.

I agree whole heartedly - but some people are paralyzed by fear of change. It's not like Stotts and Olshey haven't been given a fair chance. How many coaches and GMs have been replaced since they were hired?

I used to love this board, but it’s gotten a little boring. One reason is all the old posts that keep reappearing after somebody makes a new comment. The one called “I’m so sick and tired of Neil Olshey” has been around for months, and I stopped paying attention to it long ago. When old posts keep reappearing over and over again, it makes the board look stale and repetitive.

Another problem is the concept of a single thread for every game. In the old days you would have 5 or 6 different threads on a game: Lillard’s shooting, or Stott’s coaching, or the performance of the bench. That was fun! You could open the thread that interested you without wading through 200 comments on every single facet of the game.

As you can tell, I’m not a fan of the mega thread or the umbrella thread that tries to lump everything together. To me, that’s a dry, corporate approach that saps all the life out of a board like this.

I still come around from time to time, but when I check in, I just don’t see the multiplicity of fun, interesting threads that used to be a regular feature here.

It's like I always say, "Get down or get out!"

Not wanting to go into a full rebuild isn't having a fear of change. I think it's totally unnecessary and has the potential to set this team back for years. Sorry, but I enjoy a team that makes the playoffs year in and year out. Our biggest weakness is getting consistent scoring from the 3 and getting one could push this team to the next level. Blowing up the team gets us to the bottom level and who knows for how long.

Look at the Sixers last night.

Id like to point out that there are actually several threads for every game. Most games anyhow.

Not only are there the entertaining contest threads but there is the official game thread where people discuss in real time, the game at hand.
Then there is the “the other side” thread that jade falcon does that discusses the other teams’ fans thoughts.
Then there is the “post game interviews” that sly does.

Then there is a thread for almost every rotational player that often gets bumped aNd discussed about after games based on individual play.

Its absolutely opinion based, but i much prefer an old thread about cj be bumped and new/recent thoughts be added, so its easier to see how opinions may have changed or been accurate, etc.
with a new “Cj played well” thread every game he plays well, then its tough to check history.

Why would you want it any other way???
