Why was PapaG banned? (1 Viewer)

Welcome to our community

This site is full of bigots, women tend to be bullied and either leave or get banned, creative and fun posters like me get attacked for imaginary trades, and people like PapaG get banned for being assholes from time to time.

Banning people is racist, intolerant and just plain Un-American.

Nate you should resign in shame, then for the rest of your life wake up say the pledge of allegiance and pray to God, Jesus, Mary or whatever you believe in and to the NRA for forgiveness and for them to break you of your Un-American ways.

Also consider a few prayers for the Blazers too they need all the help they can get.

It must really suck to have lost both your favorite play things :devilwink:

You know what come to think of it maybe banning people is a very American thing to do, I mean after all this is a country that murdered thousands of Native Americans for land, enslaved African Americans for hundreds of years, still to this day over half the country hates the gays, over half the country hates Hispanics, and women still make less than men.

Congrats Nate you have the power and you flaunt it maybe you are a great American after all.

Since I am obviously struggling to decide whether Nate's banning of PapaG was American or Un-American, I wish PapaG was here to respond then I could safely choose the other side. :-(

I've learned long ago, there is nothing more American than being Un-American.

I'm closing this thread. If anyone wants to talk more about this they can contact me via PM.

Nate, Denny and Sly are all power hungry!

The mods didn't check their white male privilege. :MARIS61:

Re: Why was the "Why was PapaG Banned?" thread closed?

What I want to know is, Why don't they reinstate Papa G? No sense turning a fools action into a complete fuck up.

Re: Why was the "Why was PapaG Banned?" thread closed?

I closed it because of these three posts:

PapaG was great he was easy to rile up and was always around to argue with you. He like Blazerfanatic before him made this site entertaining for those of us who would rather trade barbs than run away and cry when someone is mean.

He goes from admitting that he likes to rile people up and argue then a day later he goes on a rant about how picked on he is when he riles people up and then throws out a bunch of insults because he doesn't have PapaG to rile up and argue with.

There was no more discussion to be had on the subject. People just wanted to complain about how oppressed they are.

If you want to discuss PapaG you can do it with me via PM.

We don't want to. Nana nana boo boo.

I asked for suggestions, ideas or help to make sure that this wouldn't just keep happening over and over and over again. No one offered anything. The only replies were more complaints about staff. PapaG had promised multiple times to not personally insult people anymore. He has been taken off being suspended and taken off being permanently banned before. He won't stop this behavior. Again, if you want to blame someone blame me. This is my fault for allowing this to go on as long as it has.

Pretty obvious there were several suggestions offered. You just didn't like them because they involved reigning in NB3.

I have a problem with someone calling members of this forum bigots and racists. Maybe you don't but I do. There was nothing more being added to the discussion of why PapaG was banned. Only bitching.

I have un-banned PapaG before. Un-banning did not work. The personal insults continued. How exactly would reigning in Nate guarantee that PapaG wouldn't continue insulting people when he gets upset?

Actually, I un-banned him the last time.

It's ok boys, we both love you equally.

My suggestion is let papag come back with a different name (if he hasn't already). Knowing this board, if he is discover he will get a hard time from this board and it will bug papag, like last time. If he was smart about the whole thing he would keep his identity a secret which would force him to change styles and not be rude in his posting style. It sucks to start all over and build credibility again, but fair punishment and it allows Papag to come back with his takes only with a much different demeanor.

Win/Win

How about this instead?

One of the more well-known stories about Sun Tzu, taken from Sima Qian, illustrates Sun Tzu's temperament as follows: Before hiring Sun Tzu, the King of Wu tested Sun Tzu's skills by commanding him to train a harem of 180 concubines into soldiers. Sun Tzu divided them into two companies, appointing the two concubines most favored by the king as the company commanders. When Sun Tzu first ordered the concubines to face right, they giggled. In response, Sun Tzu said that the general, in this case himself, was responsible for ensuring that soldiers understood the commands given to them. Then, he reiterated the command, and again the concubines giggled. Sun Tzu then ordered the execution of the king's two favored concubines, to the king's protests. He explained that if the general's soldiers understood their commands but did not obey, it was the fault of the officers. Sun Tzu also said that, once a general was appointed, it was his duty to carry out his mission, even if the king protested. After both concubines were killed, new officers were chosen to replace them. Afterwards, both companies, now well aware of the costs of further frivolity, performed their maneuvers flawlessly.

I like Sun Tzu so how about this, we un-ban PapaG. Every time he personally insults someone we ban two people who complained about him being banned. Eventually PapaG would get the message.

All humans are racists and bigots. That's something we can all agree on. I absolutely have no problem with what he said, he didn't point fingers or single anyone out, and you're reaching wben you call it an insult.

Bottom line I'd rather have PapaG back than not, because he's a passionate debater who provides some great topics. Other than insult and provoke PapaG, and ban him, I'm not sure what NB3 does. It seems to be his only purpose.

I thought you were going to suggest killing him and Nate so the rest of us fell in line. Either way really...

In one post he says he likes to post to provoke a reaction.

Then a day later he posts that he doesn't like the reactions that he provokes.

Throw in some stuff about people here are racists and bigots and I'm going to shut it down.

Well I thought it was a good suggestion . . .

Interesting dynamic here.

A mod makes a post that is arguably out-of-line.

Certain posters - you all know who - post 50 or 60 responses spread over multiple threads over a period of days or even weeks.

The mods then get blamed for "over-reacting" if they do or say anything. Sorry, but I don't get it! If having a post removed/edited bugs you that much (which is frankly a little weird) then don't bait the mods into doing it.
