A majority of the players in the NBA haven't won anything yet. It wouldn't keep you from bringing them here if they were available. You logic is flawed.

Even if we think that Detroit won that championship because of Prince (I think that Prince was the 3rd or 4th wheel on that team, where Hedo was the 2nd wheel on Orlando's finals run) - one would have to know that Detroit is interested in trading him to achieve that. One would guess KP and stuff know if this is the case a little better than we do.

Really? So you would turn down Chris Paul because he isn't a champion. Derek Fisher is. Trade for him instead aye? What about Gerald Wallce. He isn't a champion. I guess you would turn down him too aye? I could go on and on.

Besides, I have seen nothing that says Prince is available. What I have seen, is that Joe Dumars has made a lot of bad moves over the last few years and might be suckered into such a move. That is the only thing in my mind that makes it possible. I have always been of the opinion that once you see a GM make a couple of bad moves, you should take advantage of them before they get fired.

Lebron is a hub player. We have ours in Roy and LA. I don't want this team being built around Hedo do you? He should be our third option at best! That's why I like Prince in "THIS" equation. He'd be comfortable being a third or fourth option, he's a superior defender which we need tremendously and he can get his own shot. Further who would be better to teach Batum?

That's a big "if". That's how. And while Prince was a better defender in years past (he had a real down-year last year) - he does not help with other issues like adding another good ball-handler and helping with getting the ball into the post.

Also - if you believe that Batum will turn into a Prince like player - why not have someone that offers something else on the roster and play them as needed based on matchups?

Personally, I do not have a clear preference between these guys - but it all falls on the assumption that he is available - assumption that could be wrong.

Last year, his DRTG was 110. By comparison, Turkoglu's was 104 and Travis Outlaw's (Yes Outlaw's) was 109. (Lower is better)

Advanced defensive stats aren't all that acurate.

They aren't VERY accurate, but they are something that can be used to strengthen a position. If you've been watching Prince the last few years, it's pretty clear that his defense wasn't what it once was.

I think a more valid comparison is the players PERS differential against their opponent. Turkoglu wins the SF battle on most nights, after 3.5 higher than his opponents per game over the season. Travis Outlaw loses by almost that same amount at SF each night. Batum loses by 2 points at SF while he is on the floor. The facts are, by position, Turk wins that battle a high percentage of the time, and even when he doesn't, he makes enough of a dent offensivly to negate a lot of his opponents work.

If the team is built around our "hub" players in Roy and LA... then how are we building around Hedo?

No. KP likes his team. We would have to trade to get Prince, giving up some major talent to get Prince. Hedo we can get for paper, no outgoing players involved.

Ignoring the whole championship thing...

I'd love to have Prince and would take him over Hedo any day. Detroit has been a mess the last couple years and a lot of the players looked like they were just going threw the motions. Put him on a young, up and coming team and I think it'd revitalize his game.

Who said anything about building around Turk. He adds skills that most teams need. a 6'10' SF who can put the ball on the floor, driveto the basket, shoot AND pass. He also has a nice stroke from the outside. And contrary to what some have said works on the defensive end. But the team is built offensivley around Roy and LMA. What he adds is that thrid scorer who can also pass. His passing skills to me is what makes him a nice addition.

Three extra wins in the playoffs by Detroit means nothing. Although yes Prince would fit in very nicely as well.
