Will Barton shot 914 threes last night

I don't know BBert. That's a lot of shooting. I don't think anyone could keep up an 80-90% clip on 914 shots.

Good point.

He should have shot an even 1000 though. Lazy, that's what it is. :devilwink:

While I admire him trying to better his game, I would rather he focus on areas of his game that are closer to being usable.

To me his three point shot is his biggest offensive weakness. And to play SG in this league don't you have to be at least decent at it? I think it is definitely a usable weapon for his position.

I look at guys like Jason Kidd and Magic Johnson who were god awful 3 pt shooters who worked hard during the summers to improve and eventually being pretty good at it. No doubt Barton has quite a few weaknesses, but IMO he needs to increase his range to help with his slashing abilities.

I once saw Sergio go 22-for-25 from three before a game. #smallsamplesize #wetalkinboutpractisss

Martell Webster once went 1000 for 1000 in a Blazer workout, and because of it, the Blazers didn't draft Chris Paul. :sigh:

What's worse: trading down to draft Martell or passing on Paul because we had Telfair (I realize it's all connected, but overall, which piece was the worse view, I guess is what I'm asking)?

As I recall that was one of the arguments used last June on this Board for why NOT to draft Lillard. The dude could not miss in that video.
Yet people dismissed it.

Lillard had success at the pre-draft combine, and had a ton of film from college, though. Webster was a HS kid who never, ever should have been in the draft. Had the one-and-done thing been in place then, I'm guessing Webster would have had a rather mediocre season at UW, or wherever he went.

I think getting to 30% next year would take major work. Hopefully he is in agreement with the coaches in what is going to make him a productive player the quickest.

Will is a keeper, he's a future 6th man and I'm thrilled he's shooting the deep ball in preparation for a big game. Nico gave him a great compliment at the shoot around today. Said Will has stayed ready all season. Mo loves him. People keep dissing our bench but they can't put up points if they don't play. Will, TRob, DWright and Mo have played big parts in getting us this far. Freeland was a game changer pre injury. We were 35-13 with Joel coming off the bench before he got hurt. I think all these guys deserve some respect. Nobody will make a difference if they play 3 minutes every dozen games. Will is pure heart, a hustler with a great motor, similar to TRob.

Great to hear this. I want those attempts to go down. That's a lotta shots to make 500 while unguarded and I'm assuming with a rebounder

There was a bit of a debate on this forum if the Blazers should keep Elliot Williams or Will Barton.

Did Elliot end up on a NBA team this year? Where the hell is he?

I think Elliot signed with the Cavs and disappeared on their bench. My bad, it was the 76ers but he didn't light up the scoreboard this season. I always liked the guy

It should be noted that this is a bump from last May. Almost a year ago today. Just saying that tonight is what all that hard work was for.
