What do you think? Personally, I think the Levert trade has probably killed all chances, because Cleveland-for-Rubio-and-change was the fallback trade I had in mind for him.

most overrated Blazer since Juan Dixon....and no, I don't think Cronin has any intention of trading him. Hope I'm wrong

I think Cronin knows that if he has any hope of keeping this job, this move has to be made. I'm still holding out hope that the last move was a precursor (expiring contract was needed) to the CJ deal, which is lined up, or in advanced discussion, but not done. We'll see. 3 more days

No I don't think CJ will be traded. I think the team trys to build around him Dame and Simons which is stupid. They traded the wrong guard, the only one of the 4 that made sense to keep with the others. Norm was the only guard that could have successfully co-existed with two of Dame/CJ/Ant, both in regards to skillset and salary.

The team lost two starters for 3 scrubs making 11 million next year. So we lost the ability to put pieces around Dame to contend.

The team is driving toward failure this deadline and positioned to fail again in the summer. The franchise eventually will have to do a complete rebuild with multiple years in the lottery. The only question is if we ultimately trade Dame or if he is part of a bunch of lottery seasons as he ages similar to an old Kobe.

If CJ will be here after deadline, half of this forum is gone.
Not that this is a problem for CJ or Cronin.

Unless they turn the last trade into something special I would expect more of the same.

I voted 'Yes' just because the thought of him still being on the roster for even the rest of this season impeding Ant's development causes intestinal distress.

It's much more of a hope than a belief.

I hope that's not true but if I had to choose I would say it probably is true. I also would take Norman over CJ he is one and a half years younger and of course has a lower salary.
He played point guard in his first game for the clippers which is a much better position for him than small forward. He is a way more efficient scorer than Reggie Jackson so we probably sent them their starting point guard for the rest of the season.
I don't know what Neil Olshey was thinking.

Olshey was thinking "I hope those fans who wanted me fired are happy with my replacement, BWAHAHAHAHA!!"

Dallas Mavericks trade deadline roundup part 2: Brunson, Finney-Smith, and McCollum

On the difficulty of finding a trade for Brunson, Finney-Smith, or C.J. McCollum

Would you take on Hardaway to get rid of CJ? I would genuinely consider Hardaway to get Brunson and/or Finney-Smith, although that's a risk, because both are UFAs and if they leave and you're stuck with Hardaway alone... (shudder).

How about this?

Reasoning:
Pacers just ditched their starting SG, so have PT available, plus Rick Carlisle was the coach who got Hardaway that contract, so he deserves the player. Pacers get a draft pick and Finney-Smith for taking on Hardaway.
We get Brunson and salary cap relief for CJ. I'd do it! Trouble is, I don't know that Dallas would be that keen, especially as they're red hot right now and CJ might even be a step down from Brunson.

Thunder might need a first instead of 2 seconds, but they probably need to take on salary to make the salary "floor" anyway... And everybody else saves big bucks, especially given the luxury tax. (Although Indy loses cap space in the long term - but who's going to sign in Indy anyway? And the two players they get are players Carlisle liked and Kidd doesn't.)

I can't believe it but I still have hope; I still believe a three way with Houston and New Orleans is possible where we end up with Wood, who has prospered in the past at PF.

CJ will not get traded before the deadline and say this off season is going be when he will traded. Reason they like Simon but they would like veteran beside the rest of the season. Plus Dame be back next he will be that veteran for Simons play along with.

yeah, Im thinking he will be moved along with other assets to an eastern team. Atlanta, NO, Knicks, Indy? wherever but I do think if Joe wants the job he needs to trade him for front line help.

Have to have hope that Cronin isn’t inept and has a plan that hasn’t come to fruition right? Glass half full and what not!

Daryl Morey is waiting on James Harden. Do the Blazers really want Ben Simmons? Would the Nets have interest in CJ? Could a three way be in the future?
