Will the league do anything about Jokic’s antics?

This is the downside to all the twaddle about bringing in "high character guys". Not one guy stood up for Kanter and sent the Nugs a message. Call me old-fasioned, but I see nothing "high character" in not standing up for your team-mates and in giving free reign to bullies. If there is an after life, Mo Lucas is weeping in shame. Our enforcer has a broken leg.
You don't think Nurk would love to crack some mile high skulls?

Fuck Malone for equating this with Kanter getting PUSHED into Craig the previous game, or any screens we have set. Maybe we need to have our guys to box out Craig by starting with an elbow to the face or by punching Murray in the thigh to see if he gets the difference.

No shit. Also a dirty play that caused a skirmish. The Denver player was pissed at Kanter because he was pushed by another Denver player.

I hope I don’t regret saying this, but they seem like low-IQ folk.

...this is exactly what HAMMERTIME should be about! I don't care if he fouls out in 10 minutes, hack-a-jockitch time!
Wouldn't you care a bit when they have a parade to the foul line cause you’re in the bonus for 9 minutes of a quarter and the Blazers cant get into a rhythm on offense?

I think Jokic was over the line. That was a 'wind up' of am elbow and certainly not basketball play.

However...

Before we get too high and mighty, many a poster was all for going after PG's shoulder and some of the posts were none too subtle in how to accomplish that.

There's a difference between a bunch of locals in a forum and a fat guy actually doing it!

I5f course there is... but there were a number advocating such tactics who are now livid with Jokic doing much of what was described.

Jokic is being a punk and a healthy Nurkic would readily fix this cramp. But many were okay with this nonsense if it want our player it was happening to.

Theres a difference between humans on the outside with no control versus the actual player doing it.

I will never advocate for our team to ever intentionally going after an injury. I will say to exploit it through the game though.

I agree with you, I think when a player in any professional sport is playing with an injury they become a target, its part of the game. I certainly understand if teams or Jokic go after it in the course of playing basketball. There is a line though of whats actually playing, basketball, football, hockey, etc and whats just blatantly trying to injure someone.

I was ok with going after PG’s shoulder running him through screens being physical with him, all that but purposefully trying to injure someone or hurt them worse doing things outside of basketball is a line that shouldn’t be crossed.

Its ok to attack Murray see how his legs hold up and his shoulder its not ok to just straight up hit it or try to hurt him.

If nurkic was the one doing it I would hope people would get on him. No player on any team should be doing it. Play the game right, not like Jokic or Harden.

I get your overall point and agree.

But your posts are typically some of the most error-free from all angles here.

I’m assuming you’re having a fantastic evening.

I want to go to there!

Its a rather fine line though, and I think in Jokic’s mind he’s like yeah Im going for his shoulder and thats the gameplan but Im sort of boxing out so its a basketball play. Which I dont like it but thats how he’s going to justify it, right or wrong.

Ive never seen someone wind up to box out. The guy is an idiot and knows he was in the wrong.

Overrated and an idiot.

I think we should retool the game plan to attack Jokic. The dude is exhausted and he's a piece of shit, plus their whole offense runs through him. It'll never happen, but if I'm Stotts I roll out with something like this at the very start of the game.

Lillard/Curry/Turner/Layman/Leonard - this lineup would confuse the shit out of denver. Dame can play in pure attack mode with Turner as the primary ball handler. Leonard draws Jokic out and Dame drives to the rim constantly. Meyers setting tons of picks up top for Lillard/Curry, and Layman cutting hard to the hoop. Try to get that piece of shit in foul trouble.

Second unit would run more as usual. CJ can dominate and he and Hood can take turns isoing with Mo/Aminu being pests. Skal can play exclusively when Jokic rests (i.e., almost none). I'm not arguing that Curry/Turner/Layman should play more (or even as much) as CJ/Mo/Aminu, but I do think a different look at the beginning of the game and really try to go at Jokic.

I mean they didnt call him for anything so if he’s going to get away with it, Id say its kind of smart.
I get your point though.

Flagrant “2” (FFP2) - unnecessary and excessive contact committed by a player against an opponent. The opposing team is awarded two (2) free throws and possession and the player committing the foul is automatically ejected.
This exactly. This is a very easy problem to solve and the league needs to solve it or the Blazers need to take Jokic out.

Who cares what the league does or doesn’t. The actual players should do something about it.
Bingo. I hate to advocate it, but they are asking for it. The officials are there to handle this kind of thing. If they won't do it we have no choice.

Jokic actually looked around first to make sure refs were looking the other way and then cocked his elbow and drove his arm/elbow/shoulder into Kanter. It's premeditated. It's a flagrant 2.

I probably would've just T'd him up. It's an unsporting foul.

It’s against the rules for a player to intentionally injure another player.

It does not matter if there is also an attempt to make a legitimate defensive play, if there is intent to injure.

Jock itch needs to sit a game out.

Kermit destroyed his future with a quick reaction in such a situation.

It’s a game, not a fight. Refs are paid to prevent the violence and need to step up.

Nothing will be called on that, it appears the NBA is really pumping Jokic as one on its new and upcoming Superstars, probably has something to do with the global dominance its trying to achieve. Fuck him, Fuck Denver, Fuck ESPN, and Fuck Adam Silver.

A little bit of difference to the punishment of back then with Mo and Kermit. With Mo it was a 50 $ fine not much more with Kermit. Now it is a minimum 1 game suspension and going against Jockitch you would probably get 2 or 3. The best we can hope for is that the ref's realize what a sleezebag move that was and get him in foul trouble early.
