Yeah. He was a FA last season. Blazers could have used what he gives Utah off the bench. Utah of course resigned him. Blazers have been missing a force like him on the bench.
Worst case scenario:
If the roster stays the way it is now, we will have a force off the bench that is comparable to Clarkson.
Again "if" they stay the same, I would like to see a starting unit of Dame, NP, Shell, Roco, and Nurk.
With CJ being that force off the bench along with Ant, Zeller, DJ, and Little
I would love Little to jump into that starting rotation instead of Shell if he shoots the 3 like he started out lat season. But with Nurk and Roco starting we need the extra floor spacer for NP and Dame to attack the rim.
I honestly think Little with his 7'2 wingspan might be the backup PF. He could not guard the AD's of the world, but who can?
Look at our main competition in the west. Most don't have a POWER forward. Phoenix, Denver, Utah, Clippers, and GS all have their 4 on the perimeter.
New Orleans and the Lakers will be a matchup problem for sure.
If we don't get that 2-way player at PF, maybe we just sign a defender who can't shoot but can at least bring energy and defend for those matchups where Roco and Little are not big enough. Again this is a worst-case scenario.
