Depending on who we would give up with the first, I think it'd be a solid move that truly solidifies the bench.

However, I would hesitate if the deal was for more than an end of the bench player like Barton/Claver and the first. Standing pat with the chemistry we have may be the best move we could make as all the other teams are adding pieces.

Not sure why it makes to give up a first for an expiring Chandler. Unless it's like super protected.

Don't make sense to make the trade since we've already lost the "arms race."

Not familiar enough with Chandler to have an opinion on whether he's worth including a first. Based off the other trades that have occurred to this point, my gut says no.

no one said that we have "lost" the arms race, just that we were "losing" so far, do you think we should try to improve our bench?

I bet the idea is a two for one for him, then sign Jermaine. Bye Trob, Claver, plus future Nolan Smith?

Isn't he a ufa in 2016?

Plus we would have his bird rights to resign him and he gives us a backup plan if Wes leaves.

My guess is Thomas Robinson and will Barton for Chandler. Then we try to sign oneal

It makes a lot of sense. We're short a wing and adding him to the bench with Jermaine would really solidify things.

I don't think Neil is in n the business of worrying about winning a race. If it fits and makes sense with the team. I'm sure he will do it.

I personally think he likes the team just as it is.

You're right. He's still not very good however, only had one season with an >15 PER, and he only played 43 games that season. He's also not a shooting guard. Honestly, Wes is so much better I would rather just pay Wes his 12 million a year than have Chandler for his 7 million, but if Paul Allen is willing to go over the tax then that's his call. I don't think Chandler is the missing piece. He would be nice to spell Batum when he's playing like crap though, which has generally been all year.

Personally, I don't really see the incentive for Portland to include a 1st round pick, but at the same time, I don't see the incentive for the Nuggets to take anything less. I guess that's why they're at an impasse. Obviously the Blazers would do any combination of TRob/Crabbe/Claver/CJ/Meyers/Dorell, because at least Chandler is a proven rotation player.

That and I don't feel this team has maxed its potential. If that is his thoughts he may not do anything.

Yeah, I'm not in love with it.

What I meant was Chandler at the 3, batum slides to the 2.

Another option this could Give us is resigning Wes, and trading batum in the off-season for picks, vets, whatever if Paul doesn't want to pay

Maybe, but Chandler is so blah that I don't really love it either way.

I may get a lot of flak for this, but the player I actually wouldn't mind taking from the Nuggets is J.J. Hickson. He's basically what we all expected TRob to become, but TRob hasn't exactly got there yet. I wonder if the Nuggets would take TRob straight up to shed Hickson's salary. Maybe add a 2nd rounder for some incentive. He's still somewhat of a sieve on defense, but he wouldn't have to play center here anymore, just spell Aldridge for his rest, and play a bit more while Rolo is injured. His contract is pretty cheap too and expires in 2016 as well.

Don't think it has any chance of happening though, I'm pretty sure the bridges are burned based on his comments towards the franchise and Olshey.

i would love chandler but im afraid of who we might give up. the "throw in a 1 pick" scares me

Who would we pick up at 25 that really lights your dress on fire?

Wesley Matthews would have been a great player to take with the 25th pick in the draft.

I trust Olshey. I trust him to use our pick to get Chandler and I trust to pass on the deal if he doesn't want to give up our pick.

That's what everyone says, but plenty of solid players have been picked late. Just in the last few years, some solid (and really cheap!) players that were picked after 20:

2013:
Gorgui Dieng
Tim Hardaway
Rudy Gobert
Mason Plumlee
Solomon Hill

2012:
Evan Fournier
Jared Sullinger
Tony Wroten
Miles Plumlee
Draymond Green
Mike Scott

2011:
Kenneth Faried
Nikola Mirotic
Reggie Jackson
Cory Joseph
Jimmy Butler (!!!)
Chandler Parsons
Jon Leuer
Isiah Thomas

Yeah, it's still somewhat of a crapshoot, and you need good talent evaluators, but to even find one rotation player with a late first or second round pick gives you SO much more roster flexibility than spending MLE+ money on one.

Fuck.

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK.

Not a fan at all.

I will gladly take him but without giving up a first. Probably how POR Brass sees it as well.

Crabbe doubtful for next game and Chandler is out tonight...both with knee strains. Coincidence?

Who else is questionable for their next game? I want to expand our rumor list.

its not even that. its the "throw in" part. which kind of insinuates that the other parts we are giving up in the trade are more valuable than a first round pick. and first round picks are valued pretty high league wide no matter where the pick is

CJ, Wright and Crabbe are basically limited to the 3pt shots they get within the offense. But Chandler is a complete player, He can shoot, drive rebound, guard 2s, 3s and even 4s. It would give us a starting quality player off the bench.

If this happens and we trade 2 players then yall know what happens next...

Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler will not play on Friday against the Kings, according to the Denver Post.

Chandler is dealing with a knee strain. Chandler hadn't been dealing with any injury prior to the news, so it comes as somewhat of a surprise. He's averaging 14.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Too many tattoos, he would tarnish our squeaky clean image.

Actually I would embrace a trade for Chandler. I've always been a fan. Sometimes guys need a change of scenery. He would instantly upgrade our bench.

I know you're joking, but have you looked at Dame lately? The dude has been making someone rich.
