"I just have to try to do a good job of assuring them that I'm not, and we're not, actively shopping them and putting them out there," Shaw said. "Obviously calls come in, and we field calls. But we're not saying, 'Hey, we're trying to get rid of Arron, we're trying to get rid of Wilson.' That's not the case at all. That's all we can really tell them."

In fact, Chandler said he has been told he will not be traded. He takes that knowledge with a grain of salt.

"If a deal comes along that's a pretty good deal, you've got to make it of course," Chandler said. "And some guys say they're not going to trade you, and then they trade you. I'm not saying that (Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly) is that guy, but you never know. You can never feel too safe about anything."

Portland is among a bevy of teams that covet Chandler. The Trail Blazers are in need of punch coming off of the bench, and Chandler would nicely fit that bill. The L.A. Clippers are also very interested in Chandler.

None of it has had a negative effect on Chandler's play, who continues to perform well for the Nuggets amid the speculation. He's averaging 14.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, tied for a career-high, and has been one of the Nuggets best two-way players all season.

The clipper are a team that should stop making moves. They keep messing with their roster and it hasn't worked for them. Actually I think their core is flawed so they can make all the moves they want but I don't think it will help.

(long drawn out whistle)

Im not saying good or bad but there is your gamble on chemistry right there. 5 players out is huge. Doing that and signing Oneal and Prince would certainly be interesting

Lets see.

Starters:

PG Dame
SG Wes
SF Nic
PF LMA
C Rolo

Bench:

PG: Blake, Wroten
SG: Afflalo
SF: Prince, Wright
PF: Freeland, Leonard
C: Kaman, ONeal

No way you're going to get this General Manager to pull the trigger on that big of a deal and change to the lineup.

Here's a question; with Leonard's development, do you still bring in jermaine oneal?

I say yes only for playoff purposes. I still don't think Leonard is ready to play solid D against some of the more aggressive, stronger bigs in the league.

Realistically that would be the best situation for O'Neal as well, keep the legs fresh and play him only when there is a need, and keep the minutes down.

Leonard had trouble guarding Jordan last night. He isn't ready to guard guys like that. O'neal probably still can. But I don't think that means we bring him in. Lopez and Freeland could probably be fine guarding those types of bigs (moreso Lopez, Howard last year made Freeland his bitch)

Id bring in oneal and just sit freeland. Love his effort but lopez and oneal are better defenders and Leonard is better offensively.

Freeland has graded out as our best defender this year. I would pass on O'Neal now that Leonard has shown up. Get a SG/SF type instead.

Why not both lol. I still don't trust Freeland to guard the tough centers in the west like Howard, Gasol. Oneal is a better defender.

You could rotate freeland and Leonard at backup PF based on mstchups..

I actually don't believe he is at this point (although it is close). That is how much Freeland has improved and age has hit Jermaine.

Not mins for all those bigs without a trade and they all need to play.

I'm just going off what I saw out of jermaine last year. He was big time for golden state. Freeland has improved though for sure. I just prefer him guarding power forwards instead of centers.

I'm ok with signing Jermaine, but he's the one I'd keep on the bench and only play the O'Neal card when I need his defense. Primarily I'd save him for the playoffs and then on an as-need basis.

I'm down for that.

Personally, I don't see the need for Jermaine O'neal. I don't want him taking minutes away from Freeland or Myers. Our front line is deep and we need a wing WAY more.

Miami is not going to trade Deng and likewise there is no way Philly would trade a rookie who shows tons of promise for Will Barton and the ~28th pick in the draft.

All of those trades include Meyers.

Honestly, I wouldn't trade Meyers (in a package) for anything short of an upgrade at one of the starters positions. He's giving me serious COTF vibes. His game actually fits really well with the starters because he never takes a bad shot (like seriously, never). He's showing life on the defensive end. Plus, stretch bigs are SO valuable, especially ones that can play center. I say keep his minutes medium-low so we can sign him to a reasonable contract. He'll be ready to start in 2-3 years and that contract will be a bargain.

I'm rooting for Meyers to be really successful but I won't lie there is a part of me that would be really curious to see this board if he had a horrible game. :curse:

But he did what I wanted and that was string together a few good games so good for you Meyers. I think he is getting close to earning a cool nickname instead of the negative ones floating around here.

It'll be real hard to top the vanilla gorilla

No trading Meyers at this point. I think looking at trading Will to the 6ers would be good for Will. He'd be near his hometown and get playing time. I don't know enough about McDaniels to judge what he brings but the bottom of the bench is the bottom of the bench after all

i think i coined "nards" back in the summer of o-twelve

until someone has something better
