If we somehow got 2 of Cody, Knecht, Matas, Holland, ZR or Castle I'll be stoked.

I really hope we get Cody.

I really think we need to secure a second top 10 pick. Most of the guys I want are gone by 14 (most likely)

Holland might be there at 14.

So would you be happy with Williams at 7 and Holland at 14?

I'd agree.

Salaun has a floor that's so low, it's technically in the basement. He could get to the NBA and just never make it onto the court. I could see him getting a second contract just based on potential, but he could be out of the NBA in 6-7 years.

Knecht strikes me as a guy who will have a long career as a role player. Every team can use a guy like Knecht. I'd actually love to see him with Scoot. They'd be perfect together. But he's not gonna be a star..... unless he's a Kyle Korver level All-Star.

Cody could be an All-Star if he fills out his frame and develops a consistent outside shot.

Ware is maybe a little better than Salaun in terms of floor, but not as high of a ceiling.
Salaun is a consideration for #14 for me, not #7

I heared on the radio about Risacher height being misleading because he's got long torso, short legs

I think the Blazers need someone to slip for us to take a player at 7th. Perhaps you’ll hear us pick a player at 7, but either trade up or down before the draft night is over. I don’t think the 14th pick is ideal; I see us trading up to 9 or 11 using the 14th and one of our vets

my hope:

take Clinghan at 2,3,4,5,6 or 7

take best wing available at 9 or 11

For me, it is not worth using one of our vets to move up a few spots from 14

Guys with long wingspans that can shoot seem to do well in the NBA. I think he's very similar to Nic Batum, which may not excite people, but Batum is a starter on a good team.

Who has the highest floor and ceiling of: Williams, Saluan, Ware & Knecht?
Highest floor Knecht. His D may suck his entire career but the jumper will play today. Who knows if the other 3 someday develop a single skill as valuable? btw, I see his size as more SG then SF.

Highest ceiling Ware. Factoring in size/position, Kel'el is the best athlete in this draft. Heck, despite being 40 pounds heavier then Cody Williams, his raw run/jump combine measurements were better. Has good mechanics on his jumper and found success with it last year. IF he's right between the ears dude should develop into a solid starter but could be much better then that.

I'm not sure how that translates to a misleading height. He showed a 8'11 standing reach which is respectable length for a SF.

Agree about Ware, and I have seen a couple articles saying teams are not concerned with his motor.

Blazers fans select Tidjane Salaun at No. 7
The first six picks of the fan mock draft go fairly chalk. Dalton Knecht at No. 6 (Charlotte) might be a bit of a reach based on the draft predictor model, but it's an understandable pick. But Blazers fans start the surprises by taking Tidjane Salaun at No. 7. The model gives this pick a 5% chance of happening with seven other players more likely than Salaun to go at this spot.

I mean, if we didn't get Zach-Edey-with-a-personality in Boban, why would we get the boring version?

I've off-handedly predicted a Knecht-Edey draft, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's how it shakes out.

I'd be fine with that. I'm also fine with the massive swings.

Next year is the draft to go get another superstar, so this is the draft to grab some role players/starters, but I don't think Knecht and Edey would elevate us enough to really matter in the draft standings.

I am not as down on Edey as some fans but if the Blazers took him at 7 --- well Cronin would prove he is even dumber then I thought and that would be something since I do not think very much of him to begin with at least as the GM.

We will be the laughing stock if we take Edey in the first round.

Well I like Stephon Castle but he will probably be gone early. I would settle for the following and is a possibility to happen. I would do whatever it takes to get Donovan Clingan at seven. I don't like Cody Williams. Watched him play and he looks like a bust to me. At number seven he is a huge mistake. At 14 if still there i really like Ja'Kobe Walter. He was impressive to me watching him play and I think he would be a great shooting guard. Most value in these players at our draft positions in the first round. Look for a wing in the second round.
