Kristi Tolliver, Wizards assistant coach is making only $10,000 a year where everyone else makes double figures. Part of the reason is she plays for the Mystics also owned by Wizards owner Ted Leonsis. Part of the WNBA collective barganing puts a cap on what players can be paid by the team in the offseason.

But, Leonsis seems to be using a loophole to pay her less. The Wizards aren't the Mystics, they are two different teams that share the same owner. She should be paid separately by each.

She was brought in as a professional, and she deserves to be paid like one.

The Wizards agreed. They fought the league’s decision with Toliver, arguing that she should be paid more than the $10,000 the Mystics could allocate for her. The league ruled against them, but Toliver decided to take the job anyway,

Thanks. Missed the Wizards agreed part. Still, her working as an assistant coach for the Wizards is seperate than working as a WNBA player. The Mystics aren't her offseason employer so there is no reason her payment for coaching should be paid for by that team or under those team rules when she isn't working for them.

It had only been 21 years and they need to pay the players more cuz that'll help it catch on.
