Woj: Batum trade to CHA for Vonleh and Henderson (1 Viewer)

No questioning Henderson’s BB skills, just questioning how his skills fit into Stotts’ perimeter system, which is not Henderson’s game.

I think Stotts put his players in positions to take advantage of their skills. He doesn't have a perimeter system, that's just the strengths of the players we've had.

I think there will come a point when we look at the team and ask how Stotts fits with the team's obvious skillset. That will come about 20 minutes before Stotts is fired and we hire Thibs.

I can deal with this because Batum sucked last season. Vonleh was probably the youngest rookie in the league last year. Lots of potential. I assume that makes Crabbe starting SF and I'm okay with that,

Go Blazers

Maybe Phili would take Vonleh, 23 and a top 3 protected 2018 1st round pick for 3. We could take Russell as our starting 2, play Henderson as a backup 3 and use cap space to go after a starting SF and C

Henderson, although a pile of meh, is an upgrade over Afflalo. But keep making excuses for AA "to fit your agenda." :biglaugh:

interesting move. you could tell in playoffs this year that batum had given up and you could see it on aldridges face like really you're done? fuck it i guess im done too then.

I've always thought Henderson would be a good pickup for the Blazers. However I don't know much about Vonleh though.

What I like, and I have posted in the past that I want, is that this makes Lillard be the creator and true Point Guard on this team.

I think if Crabbe is your starting SF, you don't have a championship caliber team.........but maybe that's not the plan for this year, and it is for next......honk twice?

i wish we got their 9th pick. otherwise this trade really seem like a winner for hornets if batum return to form. we should of gotten a pick from them and get either stanley johnson or mario hezonja. i feel this trade a preview of many trades that will happen this summer. henderson is a shooting guard, not a small forward. looks like we are back into the jail blazers era.

Undefeated as the starting SF. His only loss as a starter came at SG. At least there is that...

Batum is a ONE YEAR rental, he is a UFA next yr when the cap explodes, we got a good return IMO for a guy coming off a bad season who has only one year left on his contract

I don't get the surprise here. I wanted Nico back but it seems to me that Lamarcus may have conditions to re-sign and dumping Nico may have been part of that.Henderson will have a chance to do what Rolo did, improve in his new situation. Vonleh I know nothing about but he's only 19 years old so more than likely a project the scouts see as worth taking a look at.

Uh, what?

Jail Blazers? wtf?

When I first got the alert on my phone, I was pissed. But it's only taken about an hour and I'm already starting to like this trade quite a bit. I honestly think Aldridge wanted Batum gone. Not saying this means he's coming back, but I like that he was aware of the deal.

Henderson is an OK get....Vonleh is all promise and no production.

I had pretty much lost patience with Batum - but even I thought he was worth more then that!

Same and I was on board with trading batum! I think I was bummed we didn't get a pick but now I wouldn't rule us eventually trading up tomorrow.

Let's hope it's different

Vonleh is younger. Besides, has Charlotte ever been able to develop any of the players they've drafted? There's a point at which you have to think it's not that they're that bad at drafting, developing these guys is part of it. Hard to do with such a strong culture of losing.

I understand the #Pistons had talks to #Blazers about Batum, but balked at offer. Before you ask, don't know the offer. :)

Technically the title of this thread should be ... Batum trade to CHO...

Double entendre and correct ;)
