Vonleh has the potential to be an impact defender off the bench. Poor man's Draymond Green maybe? The Hornets were getting A+ ratings for drafting him last summer.

IMO really 3 ways to look at this.
One is Aldridge is gone and boom rebuild.
Another is the Blazers struggled when Freeland wasn't there to spell Aldridge for minutes for two straight years now. Can't rely on Freeland to avoid nagging injuries and Vonleh is being brought into back up Aldridge. Not saying Vonleh is on par with Freeland in contribution... But hopefully he doesn't miss half the season like Freeland did.
Last one is theres going to be another trade involving Vonleh.

Getting no pick back doesn't really bother me. Batum's value had fallen off a cliff. As was stated previously the NBA is the mistress of the French National team.
