Yup. Any chance of it includes us forking over Nas and tons of draft capital most likely.Lowe says Philly hasn't considered McCollum. Sources in Philly have echoed the same thing. Fischer has said the same thing.
I would be GROSSLY surprised if CJ is moved for Simmons.
his fake trades were ridiculous. he keeps trying to trade nance instead of roco (although he did destroy Roco quite a bit), and i turned it off when he started talking about potential dame trades. i feel like Zach is a bit disengaged with Portland at the moment.Lowe:
"I think Olshey getting fired actually helps Dame's willingness to stay."
Basically summarizing my thoughts.

WaPo writer, covers the Sixers & NBA.Who is this fool?
If the GM was anyone other than Morey, I think Simmons would be gone already. I think Morey would rather die on principal than take a less than ideal trade.
There is an anti dame slant/tone to the piece but anyone who has followed the team for some time would take the information given and side with dame, that’s why I don’t really understand the aim. But it is interesting.
does anyone think dame wanting the Supermax extension is wrong?
maybe....but you may be over-crediting Olshey with rational objective action in the few days after being fired, for cause, and losing 12 million dollars.
Personally I think he's a vindictive piece of shit and it's likely he was trying to inflict as much damage as he could. So, what better way than potentially poisoning the well for the next GM and making the search harder, all while tarnishing the franchise player and leaving headaches for the owners
if it was truly 12 million that they saved in this ordeal, that is a drop in the bucket for jody. i don't think this inevitable PR storm is worth it. They could have very easily and quietly fired him and paid his $ and avoided this nonsense.maybe....but you may be over-crediting Olshey with rational objective action in the few days after being fired, for cause, and losing 12 million dollars.

I always wished I was working for more money so no. Portland giving it to him is another matter
I'm confused how this tarnishes Lillard reputation besides trying to put some of the blame of the coaching search and non-trades on Dame. What, Dame wants more money? Is that bad?
it makes it look like all of Dame's talk about wanting a contender is Portland is just noise if his real priority is getting that supermax extension
Honestly, reading this over, I would not be surprised if Olshey was trying to sell rebuild to the ownership. He gets a shitload of picks for Lillard and he keeps his job and gets the opportunity to rebuild the team again, in his vision. Looks like he lost that battle.
...I was having a similar thought earlier thinking -- what if all that Dame drama from this summer was initiated by Olshey to try and shift the narrative away from his desire to rebuild around CJ?![]()
he had full autonomy to do as he wished. are you saying the team he built from 2013-21 was not in his vision?Honestly, reading this over, I would not be surprised if Olshey was trying to sell rebuild to the ownership. No, I'm saying that NOW, "trade Dame" and build again was the direction he wanted to go. Ownership said no, for whatever reason, whether it was Lillard, or fan pressure that supported Lillard over Olshey. Whatever the reason, it sounds like Neil wanted to trade Dame, and he lost that battle.he had full autonomy to do as he wished. are you saying the team he built from 2013-21 was not in his vision?
you chumps wanna shoot the messenger because you can’t come to grips with the fact Lillard is a fraud who took hundreds of millions of dollars from your city, and he’s about to bounce out the door just like Aldridge.
He’s not getting that money. No team is paying a chronically injured egomaniac with more rap albums that second round playoff appearances that much money. Like I know you guys carry his jock strap on this site, but you really need a reality check if you think Lillard should make more than Kobe and MJ combined.Ok Neil. If he takes all that money, he won't be able the "bounce" out the door because like you told Woj, it will be an albatross at that point.
It's a weird thing to say when he already made it past round 2.He’s not getting that money. No team is paying a chronically injured egomaniac with more rap albums that second round playoff appearances that much money.
he’s demanding more than he knows the team will give him. It’s a win win. He either gets to go play movie star in LA or he gets the biggest contract in history from a chump organization and goes out as a “hero” who couldn’t seem to make it past round 2 of the playoffs

It’s funny how you don’t even know if this info came from Neil, you are just so intent on carrying Dame’s jock strap that you’re desperately trying to shoot the messenger, even when you don’t know who the messenger is!Welcome to the forum Neil
I LOVE BANNING PEOPLE!
