I saw his recent interview on national news. Appreciated his perspective and he didn’t have a fair chance to communicate his stance.
 
Envision a political debate. Candidate 1 is allowed to speak for a full hour without interuption. Candidate 2 finally gets to speak, but is informed he will only get 5 minutes. Candidate 1 then argue that in the interest of "fairness" he should get half of those 5 minutes!

Now do you get the point?

There's no justice for the little guy in America. The President can spew garbage out his mouth on a daily basis that causes division, and as always is the case with Teflon Don, nothing sticks. Woj stands up for a cause after a wormy Senator tries to detract from the cause by diverting messages meant for it. ESPN likes to act like it's behind the BLM movement, but when it comes right down to it, it's all about the money. Or in this case, money potentially lost to advertisers with white privilege values. For once i'd love to see a company back it's talent. Woj makes ESPN better. B.S. as usual. Standard operating Corporate America procedure. Stand in line, behave, or get squashed.

Hawley sent a letter to NBA commissioner Adam Silver about the league's social justice messages on uniforms. Hawley tweeted, "why not 'Support our Troops' or 'Back the Blue'? Or given how much $$ @NBA makes in #China, how about 'Free Hong Kong'!"

"They always try to turn it into the military or the police," Rivers said. "There's no league that does more for the military than the NBA. But how about that senator? I'll make up a challenge. We will do things for the troops as long as he acknowledges Black Lives Matter. I think that would be really cool for him to do.

"It's funny, whenever we talk about justice, people try to change the message," Rivers continued. "Colin Kaepernick kneels, it had nothing to do with the troops. It had to do with social injustice. And everyone tries to change the narrative. How about staying on what we're talking about and dealing with that instead of trying to trick us or change or trick your constituents? How about being real?

While I agree with much of what he said, the interesting part is that he honed in on the police/military part, and totally ignored the Hong Kong part. So, really he did the exact same thing he's accusing Hawley of, namely turning it into the military or the police to change the narrative (because $$$). It's the irony of everything going on around us, with both sides using similar tactics while accusing the other of those very same things..

If Hawley really cares about the Hong Kong issue maybe he should have just focused on that. He's the one the that diluted whatever point he was trying to make bring the police and military into it.

I'm not going to do it because I'm lazy but it would be nice to know what legislation he's introduced or co-sponsored about what is going on with Hong Kong. He is in a much better position to make legitimate change then the NBA is.

True, and Woj should have been mature enough to jump on that in his initial response. It would have been an easy counter-argument, saying that the jersey policy is for social justice causes, and that doesn't apply to the military or police. He still would have had to tiptoe around the Hong Kong part, though. I think that's the real reason for the "fuck you" response. He should have just kept quiet, being trapped in a corner there.

Basketball has gotten behind the BLM movement...and I believe they should support it.
Trump encouraged people to go back to work and my oldest granddaughters did....they did and came home with the virus....yeah....the Orange man is bad...gloves are off...anyone who doesn't want to hear me reference it can just put me on ignore. Times can improve you know. Just because something was done 8 years ago, doesn't mean it has to be copied again 8 years later.

Trump is not plastered all over it but if you think the US and it's politics aren't part of it...then put me on ignore....gloves are off. so, orange man bad because of how he originally handled the virus? was orange man bad when the unemployment rate was at a 50+ year low? black unemployment rate at an all time low? hispanic unemployment rate at an all time low? the first step act? i can keep going on how he has helped the black community, but what's the point? all you will do, and pretty much everyone else on here, is bash him for no good reason no matter what he does.
