Dang, 8 of the next 12 on the road. Appears SPD will be buying me a drink.

Fun game, and the fans that were there were real into it, by my god there were so many empty seats tonight. Just a few weeks ago the place was near full, tonight, not so much

F Nicolas Batum reaggravated his right wrist when he blocked J.J. Barea's shot in the fourth quarter.

He was trying to swat that little mosquito and he got bitten!

Here is Roy getting a standing ovation before tipoff. Good to see.

Yay, thank you for signing a huge extension knowing your knees were shit and forcing us to use our one time amnesty clause on you. You're the greatest

Yeah, why did he sign a huge guaranteed contract, knowing his knees were shot.

.....

So much for mm 2.0

I don't take the meds on the weekend, but what did I say that was so bad?

Leonard proving he can run and dunk is something we all knew

The love for Roy in this forum kills me. Yes he was a really good player, but he pretty much stole money from the franchise

Kersey comment obviously not what are talking about.

Sad to say, I agree with this sentiment. As much as I appreciate what Roy did, his 'salvation' of the franchise is way overblown. Then there was his contract, which was daylight robbery and nearly franchise crippling. Even the Blazers knew his wheels were going to come off but they were blackmailed by the media and the fans to give into Saint Brandon. The fact Brandon pulled an even bigger con on the T-Pups is hilarious, though. It's all about the $$.

No one forced the Blazers to offer him that contract.

Before he came into the league, I called Ricky's ceiling as a mix between Rondo and Kidd. I can totally see that happening. He's still only 22. And I've been watching him since his days with DKV-- the dude can d up.

I don't get this way of thinking. We weren't forced to offer him that contract, management came out and even admitted they knew about his knees. He wasn't injured when given the contract and who could have guessed we wouldn't even get a good year out of him from him. Every other team would give the RoY and 2x allstar the same contract. Management gambeled on Roy and Oden, they hit on a 15 and a king came out and we all know the history.

Well as a business owner I can see mm's point. But then I look at how Roy helped turn the franchise of barely bringing in fans and having hardly any national attention, to actually being relevant and filling the stadium, jersey sales and being respected once again. Roy earned every penny.

Thinking that Roy or the Blazers KNEW he would never be able to finish a 5 year contract while playing at a high level (At the time he signed it) is ridiculous. Blaming Roy for intentionally stealing from the Blazers is absurd.

It may of turned out that way, but do you honestly think that one of the top players in the world (at the time he signed his contract) says to himself, "man I played great last year, but I doubt I can last another 2-3 seasons" .

The Blazers admitted to knowing his knees were shot. Thinking the way you are right now is what's absurd.

I thinking you are twisting the facts on this. They did not think he would fail to last 3 seasons. They had concers but they didn't know his knees were shot. And even if it was naive, Brandon did not believe his career was over.

Roy couldn't get us out of the first round so he is a footnote in our history. Nothing more.

Then the Blazers erred by offering the contract. However, it was well-known that Paul Allen loves "his" guys, and Brandon was a steal on his rookie contract. Who else would the Blazers have amnestied, by the way, if not for Roy?

He still doesn't think his career is over, yet he defrauded the poor Blazers, somehow.

That's one way to look at it. The other is that he gave me, as a fan, the most hope I've had since the 2000 WCFs, and as many good memories as probably every other player combined since that team. I get that people tend to need to be negative, though. I'm the same way with Rasheed.

Are you trying to have no one take you seriously anymore on here?
