I knew a guy named Harry Tickler.
I was in the Army with a Lee Glasscock. He was a jerk. I lost track of him after Basic training but when I got out I recuperated from a service connected disability for a couple months and then took a job at Tektronix. During my early years at Tek. I met a woman coworker named Marileta(sp) Glasscock. Nice lady and turned out to be the wife of Lee Glasscock. They soon divorced because she was much to nice for him.

One less "s" but a great bass player and tragic figure.

I met a man whose first name was Jerk. Apparently it's not uncommon in (Norway? Denmark? I forget).

Now that is a coincidence, that's what Sly calls me.

There is an Estonian male dancer with San Francisco Ballet whose first name is Tiit.

I had a math teacher at community college whose name was Dick Large. Was acquainted with another guy name Dick Johnson…….

And when I got married I made it clear to my wife that I had no problem with her keeping her maiden name, as her dad had passed and had no sons. My wife appreciated that, but since her maiden name was Welsh and was pronounced absolutely NOTHING like it was spelled, she chose to take my last name……which gets misspelled and mispronounced too often, but nowhere near as often as her was (and still is). The Welsh spell like shit…..and talk like they have a mouthful of thumb tacks……

My high school friend's father was named Harry Dick.

My wife didn't take my name.. can ya blame her?

I didn't even know until i called our phone company to add a line and i couldn't because i wasn't authorized on the account and our names didnt match up.

She came home to divorce papers!

Lol. Not. I could care less but i told her to get my ass authorized on our account pronto!

I had a friend at Tektronix who's name is John Harry.
They use to have a PS system at Tektronix and once in a while, like maybe a couple times a week, someone would pull a prank and request a call from Anita Gooden, an actual employee there.

Was it Duyck? It was Duyck wasn't it?

The wife took my last name and did all the legal shit but said Hispanic tradition is to make her maiden name the middle name, didn't really bother me either way but I appreciate she took my name. Her last name is Rios and we've decided to name our first born Rivers (Rios in Spanish) to honor her family. My sister did the same thing, took her husband's last name but went with her maiden name for their first born and it works really well.

As for Hawaiian food ... you should really check out Patrick's Hawaiian Cafe in the Couve ... had multiple Hawaiians tell me it's hands down the Hawaiian food they've had off the islands.

Girlfriend of mine back in the day was Greek. The oldest daughter. The tradition is for the oldest child to take the fathers first name as their middle name. I couldn't stop laughing when she told me her full name was Costadina "BILL" Georgeatis!!!!

That's also been popular here in America for a long time. i remember it as a kid and I'm no spring chicken. Remember, my grandfather was born during the Civil War.
