No Ohana Hawaiian Cafe?

is that the one on Sandy? If so, I’ve only been once and it was way back. It was good and I’ve only heard good things about them.

to be honest, I don’t eat a lot of Hawaiian food in Portland. We spend almost 3 months total in Hawaii over the course of the year so I get plenty here, plus the wife is an amazing cook.

So, over the holidays my wife's niece told us that she's broken up with her long time bf. One of the reasons for their breakup is because he insisted that she take his last name if/when they're married. She's the only child and her dad is Japanese, they both don't want her last name changed.

My wife has 4 older sisters and none changed their last name (my wife included) when they got married.

Did you insist on the wife taking your last name? Frankly, I don't see what the BFD is.
Sounds like they were truly in love

Yeah. I have only been to their Milwaukie location though.

Where is the invite? Doesn't your family need a cat you can adopt?

My daughter and I are both allergic to cats, she more than me. But there are already enough crazy, stray cats over here!

I shave now. Totally a sphynx.

I could give a shit about any of the traditions. Probably end up hyphenated if I get married. It just isn't even a part of my thought process.

Roxy’s Island Grill in Beaverton is the best hands down.

Not a fan of hyphenated names. I’d be more in favor of an anagram picked from the combined letters of both people’s last names. What better statement of joining together could there be? Hyphens are too easy to break apart.

I think you are confusing hyphen with hymen.

Yeah, I don't get the hyphenated shit either. It was weird in school when kids had hyphenated names. Even my college roommate had one, but then eliminated one of the last names later.

Maybe better to make up a new name if you are gonna hyphenated it. Or both just keep their OG names.

Seems kinda sus for a man to get a hyphenated last name incorporating his wife's name.

The problem with hyphen names is when does it end? If two hyphenated people marry, do your kids now have four last names? And what happens with their kids? Six last names?

Should just go back to the Norwegian way. My kid would be Nate Nateson.

How can something be sus if it doesn't mean a goddamned thing? Names are worthless. We are just lumps of flesh that get to be alive and think for a short time. I'm not going to spend that time worrying about an arrangement of letters or symbols.

It just is.

A rose by any other name…

Kinda like the Blazers’ pick n roll defense?
