That man, a Greek Orthodox priest named Father Alexios Marakis, speaks little English and was lost, police said. He wanted directions.

What the priest got instead, police say, was a tire iron to the head. Then he was chased for three blocks and pinned to the ground — as the Marine kept a 911 operator on the phone, saying he had captured a terrorist.

Well, if he didn't want to get hit in the head four times with a tire iron, perhaps he shouldn't have grabbed a former marine's package while shouting "Allahu Akbar" and trying to rob him. And what the hell does he think he's doing in America while not knowing English? He's lucky he's not in Guantanamo, where he belongs. Oh, wait, "President" Barry Hussein Obama shut it down.

this happened Tuesday and at least initially the priest wasn't pressing charges choosing to forgive the Marine. But by the end of the story he's just learning that the Marine's lawyer is alleging the priest was making sexual advances on his client. The press release...
The bearded man wearing a robe and sandals was clearly trespassing in the garage. In a sudden move, the stranger made a verbal sexual advance and grabbed Bruce's genitals. The Marine defended himself. And immediately, he called 911 as he chased him.

Brown said the police initially called the Marine a "hero" and said the priest was "mentally ill."

He's a moron, but I've met people who have lived through much worse than this in the last few months. One moron causing stitches in an innocent person is sad, but a blip in all the badness that happens.

Excellent post. You don't fuck with Marines. Current or former. I feel no remorse for the injured.

** Edit. I just showed my Marine buddy this. He said that Marines are taught to not use brutal force unless absolutely necessary. He said that if that happened to him, he would not have hit the guy.

So I take my statement back.

If it turns out that it's as the Father says, you still have no remorse for a priest, who was asking for directions and as a result got the business end of a tire-iron as help?

Exactly.

Guy keeps changing his story like that, his credibility is zero.

They ought to give this dickweed a canteen, a K-Bar, one clip of ammo, and drop him in the mountains along the Pakistani border. If he thinks beating up a clergyman half his size makes him a badass....it'll take him about an hour to learn otherwise.

Wait, so because a Marine friend said he wouldn't do it, you take back the post you made saying the poor guy basically got what he deserved? Did you read the rest of hoojacks "excellent post", which I was hoping was full of sarcasm, that commented on not knowing what the guy was doing in the US if he can't speak English, and saying he belongs in Guantanamo? You agree with all that as well? Wow. Good for you.

Well yeah. I have a lot of respect for Marines. I work with a lot of them. If my former Marine Drill Instructor boss explains what he would have done if he was in that situation, of course it is going to influence me.

I supposed I could have just deleted my previous post and only have the edit in there, but that would be hiding and not showing my true colors.

I have no anger to vent, I'm glad you were able to show your true colors, saying someone deserved to get beat up, because it was a marine doing it. respect or not. I respect the marines as well. But I can read a story and have enough common sense to see when one was a jack ass,a nd not celebrate him for being one. But I'm glad you're able to think for yourself on it. Wait, you can't. now, now guys. no need to bukkake on DC. If his only contact in the marine's is his boss, it's justified that he's using it as his source. That being said, I question how well they install those "kill" off switches on the marines.

Your original statement still is a pretty dumb one to make, even given your comment after it. The guy *didn't* attack a marine.

You didn't need to ask your friend about that, that was clear as day in the article.
