You all hate to admit it but we didn't win this game, Golden state lost it for us. Good teams don't break 9 game losing streaks in a city with only 5 points. We should have won by at least 30.

I mean its like, everyone in here loves saying how good and talented we are but Brandon Roy only had 41 points. That's not even his career high! And KP's brilliant trade deadline acquisition, Camby, only had 17 boards and 0 (yes, zero) blocks. Josh Smith had 3 last night. Why cant we get someone like that??

Our "championship window" will never arrive with this bench. Bayless and Fernandez combined for only 24 points and shot 5-8 from the 3!!!!

The Blazers and just not a championship caliber team and you guys need to realize this

I guess you're trying to be funny or sarcastic.

Most of this game I was wishing for some heart and hustle. All's well that ends well.

No offense, but your post is so lame that I don't even know why I'm responding to it.

these are much funnier when you post them in a mixum thread.

I get the sarcasm, and while I tend to agree that there's no such thing as a "bad win" this is about as close to one as I can imagine. When they won it brought no joy to me, because I forced myself to sit through the first 3 quarters of Nate (once again) trying to out "Nellie" Nellie, by matching size for size instead of imposing his will throughout the game with larger lineups like they did in the fourth -- there is after all a pretty well established method to beating the Dubs.

But like I said, there's no such thing as a "bad win" ... I guess :sigh:

Geez, something crawled up the wrong side of your butts this morning. What a bunch of haters.

"The Blazers needed a win in Oakland in the worst way, and that's exactly what they got: a win, accomplished in the worst way."

Not a bad line.

Dwight using soccer fans argument....

"We won the game 1- nil but we were outplayed by the other side....We're pissed!"

....A win is a win is a win is a win a win, you know the rest.

Yeah, he is a writer alright. It's a shame he pretends to be a basketball analyst as well.

I agree with this being a bad BAD win. All the other good NBA teams beat the bottom 1/4 teams by 35 points and play beautiful flowing basketball every time.

While I'm not the biggest McDillon fan and realize the team is not playing all that well right now, good teams find ways to win games like last nights. This game means nothing. On to the next one.

we escaped our last 2..... cause the other team went cold. thats the cold hard truth.

We won our last 2.... cause our defense buckled down and stopped the other team when it matters. Thats is the cold, hard truth.

Winning is like sex and pizza, even when its bad its good.

We've had plenty of games that we should have won and gone cold ourselves in the last few minutes, its nice to see that happen in our favor for once this season.

if we beat sac, I wont post till monday. mixum free weekend :sigh:

Don't be stupid.

Everyone plays 82 games. The top 16 teams after those 82 games get into the playoffs.

End of story.

There is no cheating. There is no luck. Equal opportunity for everyone.

Teams win games they "should have lost" and lose games they "should have won" all season long.

One game means nothing. Two games mean nothing, entire weeks mean nothing.

I see W for wins, and L for losses in the standings. Where is the column for bad wins, and how do they affect the playoff race?

The fact is you only need to play 1 good quarter to beat teams like Sac and Golden State.

I can't speak for others, but there's no "right" side of my butt. If something crawls up it, it's guaranteed to be wrong.

Not a response to the original post, which I get is sarcasm, just a general thought: with all the injuries this year, I think we should lose the feeling that any non-crushing victory over mediocre/bad teams is a bad showing. This year, take a win and be happy.

At the start of the season, if someone had detailed all the player-games that would be missed, and to whom, along with how many games Roy and Aldridge would play at below 100%, I'm pretty sure people would not have been been expecting them to win around 47-48 games (as they are on pace for). They shouldn't be penalized for the fact that they've actually salvaged the season despite the injuries, through their own effort and talent, by fans returning to the old, preseason expectations.

Making the playoffs through all of this will be impressive. Winning a first-round series would be improbable and remarkable.

Wait til next season for the "only easy wins are acceptable" expectations.

we wont beat sac tonight.

Sure we will. Sacramento is one of those teams that always makes the game close, but rarely comes through with a W. Tough team comes into town: Close game but they lose. Bad team comes into town: Tough game with small chance of a win. Sacramento plays up to the level of the competition for the most part. So if we play badly, chances are, they will too.

Kinda like the Timbers' victory in Seattle last night :ghoti:
