Hell yes to both.

I don't like getting Richardson but that 1st round pick is nice.

If they don't give Bynum for Kidd, no way they give him and a first for Carter.

For the first, doubt it would happen.

For both: Hell Yes.

First of all, MJ wants no part of Vince Carter. they didnt attempt to sign him this offseason.

second of all, the Lakers wouldnt give up bynum straight up for Kidd last year, do you really think theyre going to include him now when he's dominating along with Critt and Odom? Your dreaming

I like that sonic trade but i doubt they would do it

I'd like to trade Kidd just for Odom, Critt, and a first.

but if we coujld do either of those, hells yes.

Seattle's not trading a huge expiring contract for that crap!

NJ would have to include two first round picks for the Sonics to stop laughing.

No way the Lakers would give up Bynum. It's not easy forThe Nets to trade Kidd and Carter now except trading for some scrubs, but the salary doesn't match.

But As I said, This team needs no trade, they just need to fire Lawrence Frank or GIve up on playing Allen and Collins.

I wouldn't want Odom. And I'm not sold on Bynum.

But that Charlotte trade...sure, why not.

Houston gets an expiring deal and a guy with the potential to average double digit assists in the future.

NJ can start Scola and give him a large role. He fits their style and would thrive with Kidd and Carter getting him the ball for easy baskets.

They also get a PG prospect for down the road and a guy who can improve their dreadful outside shooting.

QUOTE (Kid Chocolate @ Jan 3 2008, 01:00 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

one can only dream of the above deal.

Novak and Brooks both spent time in the D-League and Scola makes a lot of money and isn't fitting in at all in Houston.

The Spurs were right about him not being a good fit as a role player. The Nets can benefit from giving him a large role.

Magloire's expiring deal is nice, and I'm sure there are a lot of Nets fans who do not want to see Marcus realize his potential in another uniform.

Everything Houston has tried at PG has failed. Maybe a distributor like Marcus is the answer. They have a lot of defensive talent to compensate for him.

i don't understand why houston took brooks, he's in the same mold of all their other pg's. it would make sense from their side, but it really would be a fantastic trade for the nets.

That'd be pretty awesome. We should try emailing these to THRON. And then sending him death threats if he doesn't actually try it.

Scola is a much more skilled Boone in terms of scoring, but I'm not aware of how his rebounding is? Brooks I like; if memory serves me right he was offered an audition for team USA. He doesn't quite fit the PG-type for any sort of 'heir to Kidd' talk, though.

Hopefully THRONIKI reads this.

I would even include a first round pick If I were the Nets, because of how much better Scola would make them and how much poor outside shooting is holding them back.

I still think Magloire's contract and Marcus are very good trade assets, though - especially for Houston.

I like getting Scola.

Here's another trade that fills the giant hole at 6th man back-up wing:

Marcus/Magloire/Wright to the Clips for Corey Maggette. Then keep Billy Thomas for the rest of the season and re-sign Eddie Gill.

Starters:
Kidd/Carter/Jefferson/Williams/Boone

Bench:
Maggette/Krstic/Armstrong/Collins/Nachbar/Allen

That's a deep balanced team.

Maggette is a great fit on the court, but he is a whiner who will sulk if he doesn't start.

He's not a team guy at all.

To get the PG they covet in Marcus and shed salary.

Yeah, I've heard that, but each circumstance is different and as a legit 6th man, 1st off the bench and playing with Kidd, Carter and RJ with a legit shot at going deep in the playoffs I could see an attitude adjustment. Especially getting out of that situation in LA. He would get Wright's minutes, which were at 30 mpg, and get a lot of time in a small lineup. Would get a lot of open shots on this team.

It would have to be another talented wing imo. I can see Maggete wanting to start even though he isnt better than RJ.

It's true he would upgrade the team immensely, but people are who they are.

He cares about Corey Maggette first, so that "deep into the playoffs" thing just wouldn't be as big a deal to him as it would seem to me or you.

Not that he doesn't want to win, mind you. He just wants to be a starter. He doesn't see himself as any team's fourth wheel.

If the feed back I get is that he's open to the role I'd pull the trigger. It's the type of move that could push them up to compete with Boston and Detroit (if the wind is blowing just right). Worst comes to worse he's an expiring $7mm contract next season that maybe able to get you something in return. I'm not overwhelmd that Marcus is the future, so I think there is little risk.

Something needs to be done and I'm not convinced it's in the frontcourt. Sean, Boone and Krstic could be a pretty good big rotation. Throw in Twin for defense and Allen to hit a jumper and it's a decent rotation. We lack bench scoring (well other than last night).
