I want to know where people stand.

It seems like there are reports that teams wanted Sharpe. Most recent being New Orleans wanting Sharpe/Scoot and filler for Zion.

Would you have included Sharpe to get one of the players we were chasing?

Zion
Paul George
Mikal Bridges
Pascal Siakam
Jaylen Brown

Am I forgetting anyone?

Only player I would have included Sharpe for is Giannis.

Zion is the only one on this list Id have traded Sharpe for, but I wouldn't include #3. It would be one or the other.

Only other players I'd trade Sharpe for are Giannis or Embiid. Maybe Bam.

I just want to know where people stand, because there have been more than a few people who are upset that Joe didn't get something done. I have heard a few people call him a liar. I have heard a few people say we should have taken back less value on Scoot to get something done.

If the sticking point was Sharpe.... are you saying that you think he should have pulled the trigger?

That's the beauty of a lot of posts on here. Joe is a failure for not making a trade appear that didn't exist, but nobody would give up what teams were actually asking for.
Voted no. Would only trade Sharpe for guys who aren't actually available.

Not me, if it included the third pick. If Nets offered Bridges and Clax and we had to pkg Sharpe with Simons and others, yes I would.

The problem was, NOP wanted #3, AND Sharpe and the filler it took to match up which would have either been Ant, or Nurk + almost every other signed player on our roster not named Dame.

It just didn't work. We didn't have enough tradeable contracts.

For me the list has three guys on it and they just happen to be the last three MVPs so Embiid, Joker and Giannis. Those are the only guys in the league that I would have traded pick 3 and Shaedon for along with the knowledge that Nurk and Ant would have to be sent out as well.

And honestly, Embiid is still a risk.

Giannis and Jokic would be absolute no brainers though.

No

I would not trade him Sam I am
I would not trade him for a Ram
I would not trade him overseas
I would not trade him if you asked please
I would not trade him there
I would not trade him anywhere

I like how, if you read the idiots on twitter, it's somehow Cronins fault that New Orleans wanted Simons, #3 and Sharpe for Zion, and that he didn't take the trade.

My assumption was in addition to 3.

Yeah that probably should be stipulated in the poll. I think most are assuming it was both #3 and SS.
And we all agree that would be stupid.

If it was for Zion then it would just have to be Sharpe, Nurk and Nas to make the salaries match obviously #3 wouldn't have counted in the salary matching. I personally didn't think Zion was worth more than #3 because of the massive gamble that he is. So if we were going to trade #3, I probably would have wanted to just send out Nurk, Nas, Knox and Keon so we still had Ant to try and get a role playing C and some bench help.

It just seems obvious to me that teams thought they had Joe backed into a corner and tried to leverage him into making a really bad trade. I don't blame them after seeing the LAC trade. They thought he would panic and sell the farm to keep Dame happy. Joe is going to have to prove to the league that he can't be bullied. If he sticks to his guns and doesn't trade Scoot, I suspect that will earn him some respect.

I also suspect that Dame will ask out but hey maybe Joe will be able to pull something off in the next couple of weeks that changes things, I just really doubt Dame is going to be in a very receptive mood after Joe did the opposite of what he asked for. It seems to me that the last time Joe talked to Dame the plan was still to not continue the youth movement and get Dame big time proven help. Maybe Joe, Chauncey and Dame covered this contingency but Cronin didn't even say that.

It's a hell no from me. I never thought Zion was worth the 3 alone. Zion's value has not improved since being drafted. He has missed half the games available to play, mainly due to fat boy issues. His weight will be added stress on his feet, ankles, knees, back and hips. He will always be hurt. Unless, he learns how to eat and train. Boat anchor.

I can't imagine contengiencies weren't already discussed and (whether begrudgingly or not) agreed to.

I did find it super interesting in the presser that the last time dame and joe spoke personally was Tuesday and Joe only spoke with his agent on Thursday. That stuck out to me as odd.

Dame is in Paris. They're on different time zones.

Well even though Joe said he doesn't think Dame will demand a trade one of the contingencies discussed if we made and kept all three picks might have been Dame asking for a trade. Joe seemed to really be selling Scoot and just saying shit that made very little sense when asked about how Scoot, Dame and Shaedon really work together. He even offered up some weakass nonsense about Chauncey having to figure that out but conceded that they are both 1s.

It's not surprising to me that Brooklyn turned down 3/Ant for Bridges.

Listening to Mike Richman and he basically said that they turned it down because they want Dame.

Richman doesn't know anything. It may or may not be true, but it's not cause Richman has sources.

Yeah I get you and I get that. That aggressive question from some reporter about how dame felt and asking for a trade, Joe didn't even answer the last part of that lol.

There will be a trade this summer, and I think it's ant. If Dame is traded it's at the deadline IMO. Probably to a contender so the picks will be trash but hopefully for a good haul. But that's on Joe and the staff. Right now this is a good spot for the team, which ultimately is what you're doing this for, not the (greatest) player (in team history). Again, super weird spot but also a good starting point.

Sure but it makes sense. I heard multiple analysts say that Simons/3 was more than enough value for Bridges. Some said it was an overpay. So what other reason could Brooklyn have for not trading Bridges?
