I'm saying what we got back.
and, what Portland got back is Hart, a 1st round pick, and the TPE used on Grant
The 1st was also used for Grant.
We traded Hart for a (1st) Murray
If Grant doesn't return, the only thing we have left to show for CJ is Murray and yes, some space.
Probably Pelicans fans.
NO was trying to walk all over Cronin again. Can't blame them after getting CJ for nothing. Would have been nice to get Zion in a fair deal, but glad Cronin didn't acquiesce and take a shit deal.
and I think I made it clear I don't accept your long-term calculus.
Cronin quite obviously had a plan for that trade: get Hart as well as the pick and TPE to land Grant. No team is going to have the certainty they can keep a player when he becomes UFA. That's a fundamental risk of trades that all teams accept. That's obvious. Are you pining for the days of CJ back on the squad?
No, I don't want CJ back. The playoffs yes.
Any player for me.
Why did NO draft CJ’s clone???
Cause he has a one track mind.
I wouldn’t trade you for just any player, but I would at least want a second round pick back.
To refuse this trade proposal is what it would take for Dame to ask out.Not me, if it included the third pick. If Nets offered Bridges and Clax and we had to pkg Sharpe with Simons and others, yes I would.
They want Simons + for salary.I would have traded #3+Sharpe in a package for the next tier up of player (Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, Luka, etc)
Sharpe for Brown straight up I would consider. Sharpe probably has a higher ceiling, but Brown has a much lower floor, and is ready to contribute at a high level now.
Correct. Part of the problem is it's near impossible to match salary without adding a lot more talent to Sharpe. They want Simons + for salary.
