Trade for Batum?

Moe is the epitome of "got paid, I'm done".

Dude makes 10 mil a year... but, I've heard from Quick on 1080 a few weeks ago that he's the moodiest guy in the locker room (by Moe's own words) ... but this is elongated far beyond just mood changes, this is performance changes. I wonder if there's some chemical and cognitive underlying factors we don't know about (and it's well within his right to keep them secret if he so chooses).

I voted no. I get he's better than Turner is by some margin, and I get that Moe seems to still be pouting over Carmelo recruitment, but I think it'd be easier to break those 2 contracts up and move them if needed.
At the very least, I think there's plenty of teams that would trade for Moe, to get us under the tax, so it'd then be Nic at 24-27 versus Turner at 18ish. I get Nic's slightly better, but with Nurk a RFA coming up, I don't want that much money tied up in Nic.

I didn’t hear that interview but I believe it. Seems like he always needs positive reinforcement or a feeling of importance, but there’s only so much Dame can do. Even last year he only played well when he was starting. He needs to be elsewhere where can have a longer leash and more freedom. Hopefully Neil actually does his job. Chicago still seems like an ideal landing spot. Or the Knicks.

Yeah. It was on a Thursday... right around the end of last month or the beginning of this month... probably archived on the site. It happened around 5:30 PM. So Issac and Suke's show.

Batums better as a 3rd option. In CHA he's the #2 option, and it's not right for him. As a #3 I think he'd play better.

I agree he is better as a 3rd option....but DAMN, that is an expensive 3rd option especially when we are going to have to pay Nurk. That would be a heck of a lot of money tied up in 4 players of which, only 1 is a part-time all-star.

Does adding Batum get us closer to contending? I think it does. As long as it doesn’t cost us Collins or a first I would do it.

How does his worst year compare to Hark and ETs worst years, or best years for that matter?

How does his future salary compare to ET + Harkless's future salary?

He's owed like 77 million over the next 3 years (not counting this year). ET is owed 36 and Maurice is owed 22.

Hell no. Playoffs mean a lot to me and I'll never forget how horrible he was in the Memphis series.

I see all sides of this coin and have literally voted both ways...

I'm literally on both sides of the fence...

I wouldn't trade Charlotte a Klondike bar for Batum. Let alone a top 55 protected draft pick.

Considering how bad ET and Mo have been... and they collectively make about 27 million per year. I might honestly consider the trade.

This poll needs a "neither" option. Asking if you want to trade Turner and Harkless for Batum is like asking someone if they'd rather be punched in the groin or kicked in the groin.

This is wrong. He played better than he did all season in that series (save his shooting percentages).

His year:

His playoffs that same year:

His rebounds and assists were up but FG% were way down.

I honestly believe Batum would make our offense much better. He would move the ball more and allow Dame /CJ to really play off the ball. He would actually be ok being the 3rd or 4th option, while in Charlotte they want him to be #1 or #2.
I don't think the salary would be my issue with the trade. I would be more concerned about his nagging injuries. We would really need to have a backup available, because I feel ... his body just doesn't stay healthy... and it will only get worse with age.

Turner was never a favorite for me and Batum is under a big $ contract. I still cannot dissolve his horrible play in the playoffs last year.
Simple facts for me.

I think Batum would be ok in a more uptempo style. Charlotte bringing in Howard may be having a negative effect on him. Being just ok is not going to justify his contract though. This situation screams buyout for Batum, SA to pick him up for pennies, and Pop get great value out of what they will pay for his contract.

Don't think Batum would be any better here.

They're getting even more tired of him in Charlotte; took only one shot in a big loss to Toronto.

Turner is playing like someone who should be paid about 10% of his total salary. He's an anchor they need to resolve asap.

Shame there wasn't like a SG or a SF they could've drafted last year...

Lamarcus does not want to play with Nico again....trading him was in part to please Aldridge as much as anything...Spurs won't pick him up...expecially at his price...he's got a Ryan Anderson type contract...untouchable

Can't have 2 softies on one team.

I think we could use a good French nut-puncher. I vote yes.

There should be an ET stat for "Standing in the paint and coughing up the ball" as I witnessed in the GS debacle.
