apparently he consider himself a starter (they brought Millsap in), and he said that theres 29 other teams he could go, so I wonder would you trade for him... I think hed be very good fit here, especially with his rebounding and defence, hes someone who fights, and he can score too

on a plus side, hes still young and has good relationship with Nurk, and I think Swanigan could learn from him... I like Manimal and Id like to have him here

I'll direct him to Steve Kerr's comments:

Steve Kerr spoke about how the NBA has moved away from traditional power forwards in which those players are almost exclusively either centers or wings.

"The other thing that hurts all the centers is there's no four-man anymore," Kerr said. "David West used to be a four, now he's a five. (Kevon) Looney -- ten years ago would have been a four. Now he's a five.

"So as a result, we end up with six centers on a roster ... now you're either a five or you're a three. The four position has almost been eliminated from the NBA.

"Unless you're Draymond Green and you just play whatever the hell position you want to call it."

Okay, he's the offer I'd make - oh, and they have to give us a draft pick too since the precedent was set last year:

Why would we do that? It makes absolutely no sense.

I repeat, why would we do that?

We have Caleb Swanigan. Caleb Swanigan. Youth. Brawn. Unmatched determination. Good shooter. Dogged rebounder. Friendly contract. Dame loves him.

Not even if we traded the much maligned Meyers Leonard to get him. Don't need him. Wouldn't make us better.

It would make absolutely no sense.

Didn't want to bump another thread so I'll just put this here.

Knicks GM Scott Perry said he might consider making a trade to clear up the team's logjam at center.

After acquiring Enes Kanter in the Carmelo Anthony trade, the Knicks currently have four centers on their roster: Willy Hernangomez, Kyle O'Quinn, Joakim Noah and Kanter. Noah will miss the first 12 games of the season due to suspension, but once he returns, there will not be enough minutes to find playing time for all four. Perry said there would be a healthy competition in training camp to see who wins the starting job. Hernangomez is the presumed favorite to start, but his fantasy value took a hit as a result of the Kanter acquisition.

It really depends who they want but right now I don't see a big up grade if we after him.

In all fairness that video was Faried trying to cover Dame. I would be happy if our PF can just cover other PFs. And I think Vonleh can cover the multiple types. (i.e Favors, Melo, Milsap, Gibson, Green, Griffin. And is a better shooter.

Faried does bring energy, but would he get in Nurks way? He can't spread the floor at all. So I don't think he could start here either.

I still think our PF will be by committee since the position (as Kerr alluded to) has evolved.

In 3 years, Collins will be the starter at 4, with Biggie backing him up. Davis will be backing up Nurk. I like Faried, but I don't see a big talent upgrade over what we've got.

However, it might be worth it to bring him in if it got us under the luxury tax (and helped us moved Biebs).

Faried, defense???? Hah, good one.

Lack of defense is exactly why Kenneth Faried is NOT a starter. He's a rich man's J.J. Hickson (high PER, but doesn't make his team any better).

He's also a poor fit in Stotts' system (2-19 career 3-pointers). He would provide no floor spacing and would just get in Nurk's way.

We already have a log jam at power forward, and Swanigan can give us everything Faried can, and more.

You'll change your tune before Thanksgiving. MyLe will silence his doubters and be the unquestioned backup C by that point, and it will be other teams begging us for a trade, rather than us begging them to take him.

From your lips to God's ears.
