I will be the first to say I am totally against Blake starting over Miller. I think Miller has never had a fair shake playing point with Roy. In fact, if you look at the transcripts, there was never a time when Roy was playing SG and Miller was playing PG. There was always a "Blake or some other guard" with Miller and Roy on the same court.

I disagree with the premise that Roy is unilaterally responsible for the Blazers' turnaround. Without Rudy, Pryzbilla, Oden, Aldridge the team does not sniff 54 wins last season. The fact is that many of his comments are self-important and detract from the general sense of teamwork that is required to win a championship. You don't want the entire team believing that Roy is their savior and igniter. What happens when he invariably gets hurt during the season? Is the team just supposed to wilt and die as Roy seems to think will happen? And didn't they win against Boston last season without him?
Isn't it necessary that other players on the team develop according to a team philosophy rather than a Roy philosophy?
I don't know about you people, but I hate when someone demands leadership and takes unwarranted credit. It reminds me of a dictatorship. I also don't think Roy has earned so much credit with me with one first round exit under his belt. Rasheed made two All-Star games, would it have been prudent to build the team and run the offense around his desires?
Bayless is twice the talent of Blake, but it's seemingly Roy's insistence that Blake play the majority of the minutes with Roy on the court. Is this really what is good for this team in the long run? As an observer, I don't think it benefits anyone else but Roy in all actuality - not the team and certainly not Bayless. Does he really want a dynasty in Portland or does his desire for an MVP ruin any actual possibility of bringing that dynasty to fruition?
I guess these are just some questions I have.

Just a little FYI, when the Blazers had a 27 win season and got Aldridge and Roy, they improved to 32 wins. Then the following season, Oden was completely out, and Fernandez was over seas and Pryzbilla was hurt most the season, the Blazers were 41-41. All this mainly because of Roy.
So little credit is given to Roy now. Uncanny really.

P.S. how does the league interpret the value of our players? I don't hear much about any of those other players that you mentioned.

Roy is an awesome awesome player, Top 10 player in the league at least. That said, He wont take us to the promised land by himself... (dont say oden or LMA either)

I've only stated that Roy is not solely responsible for the Blazers' turnaround as your OP would seem to suggest. And you cannot convince me that a team with Roy and a bunch of scrubs would sniff the playoffs.
And if you are going to heap so much responsibility onto Roy, then what do you make of his first round exit? Sure, he played like a star on offense. How did that work out?

Roy, Aldridge and Oden definitely can. This is when they are all on the same page. I can give you countless teams that made it to the finals with much less (and this is that PG you keep harping about). Miami for one (Jason Williams?) come on. Bulls (Paxson or BJ Armstrong? LMAO). Sixers (Eric Snow? Yeah right). I can go on. Now the ones that won it all, most all had dominate big men and a low post threat.

Chris Paul comes to mind first, and I'd even throw other players WITH Roy to get it done....Not a huge fan of Melo, but the way he is playing lately? Maybe so...You don't see him complaining about Chauncey Billups do you? I wonder....Do you think Roy would?

Out of context. "solely responsible for taking us from the "laughing stock of the NBA" to a team people love to watch". He became the NBA darling. The player that people wanted to see break down triple teams in the paint and still score. Had nothing to do with their record, but the entertainment value. Roy will be the first to tell you, this is a team effort. Which doesn't mean he was the only won that gave us wins. What I am telling you is, you toss all those other players out there, excluding Roy and we don't make the playoffs for sure. So who's more important?

Melo's game is off the ball. He doesn't like being the #1 playmaker. Maybe you can make a apples to apples comparison. How about Magic liking Stockton to come in at point, and they move him to PF.

When did i harp on about a PG? I said he needs more help. If that comes at a different position like SF than fine. But in my opinion, Miller can be that help that makes Oden and Aldridge difference Makers..

Hear much? From who? It would be folly to believe that Aldridge, Oden, Rudy, and Przybilla do not have good to great value around the league. You also discount the contributions of Outlaw, James Jones, Aldridge, Jack, and Webster on that 41-41 win team.

Well considering why this thread was started, I would assume you would think that. I don't think Roy can do it alone, but I really believe Roy, Aldridge and Oden can if they are used properly.

When he was averaging 30+ a game in the 09 playoffs, I'm not sure what he was keeping in check for Phil.
I think Kobe overcoming Fisher's deficiencies, or Phil's favorite role player, is what kept the Lakers in check.

You are 100% missing the point. You are thinking I said the "Turn around" has anything to do with wins when I said "Laughing stock of the NBA" to a team that everyone wants to watch. Zach and Co, or even the jail-blazers before that were hard to watch. Then Roy comes in and is all class, all about the culture and represents himself well in front of the media. We were the laughing stock because of our demeanor as a unit in whole. A bunch of "bad characters" that cared only about themselves. Then this player comes in and is far from that. And if you think this latest Quote from Roy says otherwise, then we can agree to just disagree.

Without another Superstar Shaq never wins any of those titles, at least Kobe did something greats like Bird, Magic, Jordan couldn't. Gasol is nice but not on the level of other second options.
I didn't know Jordan made it out of the first round without Pippen.

Yes, Roy is the best overall player on the Blazers. No, he doesn't deserve more than his fair share of credit than his teammates do for the turnaround. Without Outlaw, that 41-41 win team probably loses five more games. Last season, Aldridge, Blake, and Przybilla have career years. Rudy contributes mightily off the bench. Oden plays well when he plays. Outlaw and Batum have their moments. Even Bayless helped win a couple games.

Miller makes Aldridge better? LMA's PER is the lowest of his career so far (yes, lower than his rookie year). How, exactly, does he make Aldridge better?
Greg Oden's PER is higher - but in 36 mpg - he gets only 1 more FGA than last year. I would argue that Greg Oden's PER is higher because he turns the ball less and he worked on his body this year.
Andre Miller's big impact on our bigs, so far, is pretty much a myth...
