He is totally heterosexual by the way.
This is what I don't understand... why can't people just disagree with one another and leave it at that? Do they really think that berating some poor girl or hassling someone is going to change their beliefs? I think people have really lost sight of freedom of speech and freedom of religion. We are heading down a dark road when we start persecuting someone because they don't believe the same way we do.
And I agree 100%.
I disagree with marriages not between a man & woman, but it's only my opinion and I harbor no ill will for those who disagree or want to marry a person of their same sex or an animal or a rock... But people have to use the hate card or race card when they think their way is the only way and all other people with opinions must be silenced.
It's part & parcel of what we're becoming as a nation.
I hate people.
Why do you propgate hate speech on this board.
I call to ban this character!

Me too. But I love your avatar.

The issue is this: should the government regulate who can and cannot be married? If two people want to enter into a marriage, should the government be able to say yes or no?
Huh?
Am I missing something or were you being witty and it went over my head? If so, I hate it when that happens.
My opinion is "no". I think it's none of the government's business.
brother and sister?
My opinion is "no". I think it's none of the government's business.

And that's where you and I agree![]()
so brother and sister.
no, consistency in stance.
Are you fishing for some approval?
so the answer is yes.
Well, it's an interesting curve ball to the debate because, on the one hand, I think anyone should be able to spend their lives with whomever they want.
But... on the other hand, there's an intangible to the brother/sister thing that you wouldn't find with man/man or woman/woman. A gay couple cannot procreate together. They can get artificially inseminated if they're a woman, or they can adopt, but they can't go through the natural process of creating a child between a man and a woman.
A brother/sister relationship could make babies, and then you have to weigh the risks of the children having birth defects from an incestuous relationship. So.... then the question becomes; should the government prevent people from potentially having children with birth defects? And that opens a whole new can of worms that I don't want to go into.
So in looking at your stance, how do you feel about a person marring and bedding a sheep (like, say, an OSU football player) or a dog?
Agreed!
I'm a complete hypocrite. Men together makes me want to vomit. Women together is erotic as hell.
The key to marriage is, two adults can willingly enter into a relationship with one another. There is consent. That's where the whole "I do" thing comes into play, and the contract.
How does an animal give consent?
