I'm happy he's happy/comfortable, but I don't think there's room here for him.

“So I’m really comfortable here in Portland. If it happens, it happens. We have a lot of free agents this summer. Of course the front office is going to take care of our big dogs first and then the discussions will trickle down to everybody else. But, yes, hopefully this situation works out. If not, it’s just part of the business. I’m ready for whatever is ahead of me.”

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Wright is a huge part of this teams chemistry, and worth signing for that reason alone.

If he's cheap, why not. Good guy, good veteran, gets along with everyone. He hits the occasional big 3.

I guess it depends on what he would sign for. I wouldnt give him more than 2 years for 5 mil total, but I would think he wants more.

Maybe for the vet minimum. But he's not been good here.

I think it'll be one of those things where he hits a big shot in the playoffs. regular season = whatevz.

What about 100,000 per year for 25 years? :MARIS61:

Wright didn't cut it as a backup here, and now we have Afflalo and Gee...so it'll just remain to be seen if we need to fill a 3rd string roster spot. Don't see why though. May as well try to develop someone else.

Wright hasn't performed as well here, but he isnt a bad player in this league. He's also very well liked by teammates. You resign him for somewhere around 2 years 4-5 million. That's a no brainer

I like DWright. He's not demanding a lot of time, helps the young guys, plays above average defense and can shoot the 3. We need role players with his length coming off the bench.

Why is it a no brainer to sign a player that sucks?

We hear you everytime you say it and I still think that it's utter crap.

We need cheap role players. Sure, dude ain't been up to expectations, but given the current status of deals handed out these days, I wouldn't bat an eye at giving him the same deal we have him. That being said, I expect he'll be elsewhere next year with a similar deal that we signed him to, but for a little less.

I understand completely what you are saying and I agree. I'm not sure if you know what I'm getting at though. Fonz is acting like Lillard ids gonna go Ham if we get rid of Wright. I'm calling Bullshit on that.

I remember a rookie Lillard saying how much he'd miss JJ Hickson and Jared Jeffries. Doesn't seem such an issue any more

When he said that about Hickson it was a quick blurp that everyone says about a teammate leaving unless it was a toxic toxic relationship. Dont remember what he said about Jared Jeffries but Jeffries is a great teammate and few people have bad things to say about him.

When JJ was let go, Lillard said JJ was one of his closest friends on the team, said the same about Mo and Jeffries. My point is, he's moved on without missing a beat as a Blazer. Lillard is very mature for his age. I think the whole, can't trade or waive Lillard's friends is pure bs. I like DWright on the team for his contributions in the lockerroom and his skills. Not for his social loyalties.

Difference is loss of MO still affects him. Others guys no. So would Wright loss be more like JJ or more like Mo for Lillard? I think the latter.

Wright is looking serious about wanting to stay in Portland.

I just looked at Wrights per 36 and advanced stats... He actually is playing much better (on paper) than I expected.

> Common sense. Like it!
