better than Miller, but I admit I was wrong - the guy has been awful. Would have much rather have seen Nolan stay in the game tonight win or lose as opposed to putting "Wrong Way" in who has been awful in the 4th. Thanks a helluva lot Nate

Call me crazy, but i'd be okay with starting Nolan Smith over him.

Didn't like the swap from Dre then. Absolutely hate it now.

I said it at the time of the trade, we didn't get better at PG, just younger.

Tonight against Philly, Andre goes off for 28 and 10

We could have had Dre and Nolan under his tutelage.....

I really liked the move, and I think it could still pay off eventually. But he's been god-awful so far

7-45 from 3pt so far this year.

Boo his ass of the court until Nate stops playing that piece of shit.

If he's not a shooter at 6 foot 1, I don't understand how he went 5th in the draft.

Part of the reason was because Charlotte had the 5th pick and wanted a local guy. Also they were in need of a PG, and since D-Will and CP3 were taken off the board, the best remaining PG was Felton.

He's been a disaster. I literally cringe every time he sets his feet to shoot.

I could see the justification for the trade when it happened due to Miller's age and the fact that there wasn't much future left on that path, but I have to admit he's been far below even my low expectations. All I was hoping for was some generic sort of competence (low 40s shooting percentage, maybe low 30s on threes, some dimes, a few turnovers, etc.) and maybe he'll get it sorted out, but something is just off.

I've seen him play off and on for most of his career and setting aside the numbers and stats, he's never looked quite this bad. On the plus side, I don't think it could get any worse.

Felton is who we thought he was.

Or at least some of us. :)

He's, at best, an average starting PG. He's a PG who shoots poorly given how often he shoots.

I was hoping he had turned a corner, somehow, when he came to Portland but... he's just not that good. That we gave up more than Miller for him (we did, right? It's late and I've got some wine in me) is pretty bad.

What I read at the time is that Bernie Bickerstaff (who at that time was Charlotte GM), loved Felton as a player. In fact Portland went to Charlotte first when they came up with their idiotic idea of trading down, but Charlotte didn't want to trade (I think they had the 11th and 5th), reportedly because Bickerstaff thought Felton was just as good as Williams and Paul. So there were actually two huge blunders in that draft; portland's decision to trade down and Charlotte's decision not to trade up.
I wonder how much input Bickerstaff had into Blazers trading for Felton?
Anyway, I still think Felton could be good if he could just get back to his normal shooting percentage and push the ball consistently. If he had come into camp in shape, this wouldn't be so difficult. But it seems to me that this idea of playing himself into shape in a condensed schedule season is not working so well. But also i don't think his defense will ever be very good; he seems to be caught leaning the wrong way a lot.

Felton looked good in a two-game stretch and I thought he was going to make me eat crow...

But he's reminding me why I was so adamant about packaging whatever it took for Rondo earlier this season. He can't shoot either but Felton is making him look like Steve Nash in that regard.

It's amazing that LaMarcus has averaged 23 PPG this month while getting absolutely NO help from his shooters outside of Nic.

Agreed. I thought Felton was an above average PG, but he hasn't really shown anything.

Growing Pains, he'll get it back and so will the Blazers.

The chemistry between Felton and LMA is unique. Never saw that between Dre and LMA. I think by the end of the year, they will be a dynamic duo.

Felton doesn't need to focus on scoring, or getting his shot back, he needs to focus on distributing and running the offense. He does that, and the rest will come.

I disagree. I thought he would play to his average statistics throughout his career. He hasn't been close to this point.

This is a joke right?

Dre is one quiet dude, I love him, one of my favorite players. But never was a great communicator.

I see Felton and LMA talking with their heads together almost every game, hell I've seen em chatting so close their heads are touching. Never saw an inkling of that with Dre.

The bond between the two is different, in time it will produce better results on the court.

I don't want the two to have a baby together, I want them to making winning basketball plays together

Here is the thing with Felton, for me anyway, I dont mind him taking shots. In fact I WANT him to take shots. Its WHEN and HOW he takes shots. He has a nasty habit of taking shots WAY to early in the shot clock and the degree of difficulty on some of them is only eclipsed by Crawford. I cant help but believe his shot can only get better but he needs to take the right kind of shots and I would feel a lot better about them. Ive said it before with Felton, he is definitely the kind of player that you have to take the good with the bad. I just want the bad to be a little smarter.

Has any PG ever played well for Nate McMillan?

Andre played okay, but never really looked like he was on all cylinders.

Steve Blake I supposed played his best basketball under Coach Nate, but Blake wasn't a true PG.

Sebastian Telfair, meh...

Luke Ridnour, hmm, I still feel kind of meh...

On the other hand, it seems like Nate is kind of handing the reins over to Felton, and Felton is failing.

I have seen glimpses of what I think will make Felton an effective PG, so I haven't given up hope on him. And I doubt the Blazers are already giving up on him and looking elsewhere. With this season being crazy and all, it is a good season to see what we got and make some significant moves this summer (maybe trade deadline if something is too good to pass up on).

But if Felton's play doesn't improve dramatically, the Blazers will be looking elsewhere for the starting PG postion next year.

It too Dre 30+ games to get going in PDX.

Dre was struggling playing with Roy and vice versa.

Felton has been given the keys since day one, and he hasn't done anything with them.
