Free agent Spencer Hawes has reached agreement on a four-year, $23M deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, league sources tell Yahoo.

We shouldn't give a shit about Hawes honestly

Not a big deal to me

Hawes or his agent probably had incentive to be in LA. Our front office probably knew this before the Kaman offer. I seriously doubt we could have gotten him for the same money and the Clipps just may have given him a spot in the Blake Kia commercials

Hawes went to Univ of Washington. I bet he knows Ballmer very well and will get to use his yacht on weekends during the off season.

If this is true this is a huge disappointment and a blow to Blazer organization. This was the Blazers top FA target. Hawes even expressed interest in Ptd.

Sadly I think MM was correct , players don't want to play in Ptd unless they are overpaid. We basically had to overpay Kaman to play here ( paid more this year than what Lakers paid him last yr and no other teams interested). Olshey probably wondering what he got himself into coming to Ptd.

Maybe Blazers should think about trading LA if this offseason is indicative of FA signings in Ptd.

More likely Mondays with one Tuesday a month. Hawes ain't that big of a get.

Are you forgetting that every single FA that the Blazers miss on was a sure fire superstar and the Blazers fucked up royally?

(hey, it's kind of fun over stating what people say and acting like everyone believes it..)

and he was obviously the guy we really wanted with Olshey and Stotts showin up at 12 midnight, sounds like he chose Clips over us and we then went to plan B which I guess was Kaman

Hawes, Ballmer and Webster taken last year.

I expect the Clips will sign Webster next for the minimum. Martel will get to use Ballmer's yacht 2 Wednesdays a month.

#Conspiracy!

Well shit, that is disappointing. Maybe Neil did pani? Olshey had to know Spencer chose LA before he signed Kaman, right? I'm already getting worried about our imaginary cap space plan :(

I think we are finding out our GM is either full of hot air or that his limiting beliefs with this landscape (and he does have some) is effecting his overall job.

Personally, I was hoping to land a wing defender with the MLE.

4y deal. Isnt the MLE only for a max of three years.

@WojYahooNBA: Hawes passed on Blazers MLE offer Thursday, sources say. Chose between Clippers MLE and Suns space. Blazers moved on, signing Chris Kaman.

Ouch.

It is what it is. Hawes preferred LA or PHX. Most players prefer those cities to ours.

Well, it is called Free Agency for a reason. Just because you're from somewhere doesn't necessarily mean you want to go back there.

I think it had to do with the length of the contract.

2 years or 4 years? I think it was an easy choice.

Keep in mind both offered more money than the MLE. Not much more but still more. In the clippers case 2 million more. Phoenix.......we are not sure what they offered with their cap space.

Your right, but it does upsets me because I did think Ptd would be an attractive place for players to play right now with Aldridge and Lillard and Batum
