George King reports that the Yankees are eyeing Astros right-hander Vincent Velasquez as per The New York Post.

Never heard of him....lol

USA Today reports that the Astros and Dodgers are talking to the Yankees about Andrew Miller as per Bob Nightengale.

Simple test Rick.....its game 7 of the WS, Yanks vs giants. Which team are you rooting for?

Good question Tote- and I guess he answered it.
By the way, I'm the "dufuss" he was referring to in his answer to you.

"I've already answered this when dufuss asked me but I'll repeat it, I'm a Yankee fan FIRST so of course it would be the Yankees BUT I'd be happy for either team that won".
_______________

I had already gone over this with him in the below thread and I think a couple of the usual suspects (lol) found ME to be the odd one for trying to get clarification.

I even said "to each his own" in one of my replies from that thread (#14).
Doesn't really matter to me if someone is "happy" for ANY TEAM after they beat the Yanks in the WS.....I'm just not one of them.
Guess I'm kinda wacky in that way- lmao......including all the "Yankee fans" I personally know, and have known.

To each his own- fine and dandy!

If you like, you can start in post #7 of the below thread when the "dufuss" (me) asked the question- and take it from there to post #19.

ahem...notice how he didn't refer to you as a "dufuss" for asking a question which begged to be asked...lol

...Matts, I was looking at your A's pictures/schedule...there were 8 scheduled Double Headers back then...something I wish they'd revisit.

Yes, I'm glad you brought this up, when counting the other "on the road" double headers, they played in an incredible 19 double headers that year......

While the Yanx played in 20 Double Headers, both at home and on the road, in 69........unbelievable....!

I agree "Let's play 2"...

The game we took in August 24th was a DH,
I can't ever forget seeing that game on a Sunday, 10 days after a Raiders exhibition game, and the field had divots all over the OF.....Grounds Crews weren't as good back then or so it seemed...

And we need to go back to the 2 for 1 double headers. You know the kind where can sit all afternoon for one price & enjoy 2 games. The days before the greedy owners decided that the fans deserve nothing but high prices.

...there's a reason why.

...same as above "there's a reason why".

Velasquez was throwing 99mph with consistency in Lancaster, for the A+ Minor Lg Jethawks. Vincent has since dialed his FB down to 95-96

Indeed, the DH I saw in Oakland 69, was a 2 game DH, for 1 ticket.
Reggie parked 1 Hr in each game, the first right over our heads; thrilling as hell to a kid sitting in Reggie's Regiments, ie the RF- Bleacher creatures.

The 2nd game was a 18 inning affair, and we stayed til the parking lots emptied. I don't remember what time the 2nd game was over, but I do recall it being a 5+ hour game. Around 9-10:pm, we left the park, with a 1 hour drive home, damn near midnight we arrived home, what a long but short day. We definitely got our 1 ticket monies worth.

Incredible DH games. The 2nd game, was an 18 inning affair, & saw the likes of Pitcher's: (7 Pitchers in all for the A's, 6 for the O's)......
John "Blue Moon" Odom start the game, only lasted 5 IP, Rollie Fingers pitched the 6th Inning, Vida (flame throwing) Blue had the 7th thru 9th IP, and gave up a HR to Frank Robinson; Catfish Hunter threw the 15th & 16th, Nash closed the game out. Reggie hit his 45th in CF, what a day, for only the price of 1 ticket, Reggie hits a HR in each game, and we damn near saw 2/3rd-3/4s of Oakland's infamous HOF Pitching Staff,

- the O's also had the beginnings of that great SP staff.

The A's of Finley, with those great bright yellow/gold vest, Kelly Green sleeves, yellow paints, K-Green Stirrups and Hat's, with White Shoes, they be styling no doubt. A Sunday game in Oakland meant White & Green Uni's, with the 1st game being played in those golden/green Uni's.

NTM- Both Robinson's, (Frank Hit a HR), and Brooks was Brooks the 16 consecutive Gold Glover, spectacle. Big Boog Powell a legendary Giant of a Man; both teams were filled with great players, both Teams would dominate the AL for the next 6 yrs....!!

Just read that Chris Davis is looking for a 200 million plus deal. Really asswipe so you can strike out 200 times next year. Jackass.

scuz my language Lil', but Davis is not worth his weight. I bet if he winds up in another ballpark, we will never see him hit 40 HR's just my take. Sorry purists, I think Davis is still juicing, and masking, just spitballing...........

...that's more than twice as much as Adam Jones. I think they'd be better off using the money elsewhere...for one, I don't think they don't have a LHed starter.

Orioles already offered him 6 yrs. 150 million. Greedy bastard.

It's hard to believe (even if it was an earlier era) The Mick never made more than 100K a year.

What Would The Mick, or Mays be worth today.....or McCovey, Bob Gibson, Johnny Bench, Roberto Clemente, Whitey Ford...?

......these greedy fks are now Commodities, traded like Wall Street, "recalls", "rebuilt elbows" ie "re-furbished", terms MLB never heard 20 yrs ago.....

Mantle was once asked what he'd be worth today if he still played & he responded somewhere along the lines of, "I'd walk into George's office & say, Hello partner".

...^^^ Classic Mantle......:cowboy:

That Mantle quote actually came from Joe Dimaggio. Mantle was asked the question and said he liked the answer Joe D gave about saying hello partner to George.

lol
Dimaggio said it, and you're right..
→sometimes it's better to just be quiet.

Orioles went up to 7 yrs. 168 million I guess the greedy bastard didn't accept it because Buster Olney just said they took the offer off the table.

Yep- this is one of those monster deals - thinking about those outrageous deals to pitchers- Greinke,Price, Scherzer- It'll be interesting to see how the hitter (Davis) measures up to the pitchers production wise for the length of the contract. Who will come the closest to their past performances year in and year out for the duration.

How the hell do you turn down $24M per? Un-fk'ing-real

Misquoting someone is a far cry from CONSTANTLY making an ass of yourself.

In that case, I think you CONSTANTLY make an ass of YOURSELF with your perpetual whining and dopey "sky is falling" attitude regarding everything which concerns the Yankees and Cashman. Who the hell appointed you as the standard bearing "Yankee fan"? Lmao....maybe you should calm down a bit? Maybe you should look more often at your SF Giants' yearbooks?- at least you'll be connected with a "real team" and a legitimate good MLB GM....wink!
