One Executive told ESPN.Com that he thinks the Yankees "will move" Andrew Miller for a Craig Kimbrel-like package built around MLB-ready Starters as per Jayson Stark.

Andrew Miller may have been the most effective dominant reliever the past two seasons. His numbers are terrific.
Why would Cashman trade him without securing another TOP closer or at least another GOOD setup guy and insert Betances as the closer?

The answer is he isn't trading Miller unless one of the above also takes place. imo

Operative word here being..............LOOK.

...lol...the ever-changing "plan".

Lol....so what exactly is your point?
Yanks aren't allowed or permitted to make a trade or two TO TRY AND IMPROVE THE TEAM?
I've already seen very recent posts on the board complaining and whining about the Yanks' bad "off season" and how the Yanks will probably have basically the same team in 2016 - and we aren't yet at Thanksgiving!..
lmao,lmao....So YOU don't even know what and who the Yanks are willing to trade or what they're interested in yet you criticize them for saying they're trying to improve the team. Hilarious....hilarious!
You're already trying to lay the ground work and convince the board according to YOUR narrative that the Yanks are wrong...on November 18....! Lmao....
You're beautiful!
A real beauty!

I'll make an attempt.

Whenever another team makes a deal the Yanks are criticized for not making a trade as "good" as the other teams... but when the Yanks DO make a deal it's generally regarded by the majority as a stupid move which makes no sense (sometimes before the player has yet to play a game for the Yanks)...and, as Cashman has said he would like to see the Yanks become younger and try to get a handle on reducing payroll a bit and has thus far refused to part with a single top prospect/young player (Severino, Bird, Judge) for an older and/or highly paid veteran as was demonstrated during last years trade deadline but just might make a move which they believe is worth it and would help over the longer haul as they (OBVIOUSLY) will be dropping a bunch of money after the next 1-2 years as they ride out a couple of big salaries to players who are NOW older and were signed just prior to the Yanks' last WS Title in which those players played a big part in....and,....if or when the Yanks choose to sign a free agent to a contract which isn't gigantic and Max Scherzer-like, chances are Cashman and ownership will probably be criticized for somehow contradicting their intentions (plan) to get the payroll under control as the critics (aka "the majority") will conveniently fail to mention and recognize the fact the Yanks will have a ton of money off the books by the end of 2017 which will have the Yanks in a good position to maneuver and be more "flexible".

Hope that clears things up a bit. It took me a while to get my head around it.....now I find it kinda fun and entertaining.:ghoti:

Cashman has a Strategy, aka " the plan", to get a younger roster, lower composite salary and a more competitive team able to dominate the mlb for the next decade. Several things are critical to the plans success....utmost secrecy and unpredictability. Because of this, moves made may not make sense and due to sensitivity so as to not roadmap to our rival, Cashman can't comment or defend. Therefore fans shouldn't question this strategy, we should accept the plan as gospel because as a GM, Brian Cashman operates in godmode.

Anyone questioning Cashman's intellect or abilities is obviously anti-yankee and a false fan.

I did not actually type this response, I'm under mind control by Ron.

Lillie right up front you need to know that you really can't take anything blg says on this topic seriously as most of us here believe he's in some way related to Cashman. Either that or its just a man crush.

In answer to your question though Cashman has had a PLAN for the Yankees for some time now, we're just wondering when this plan will unfold.

I think ....if we are objectionable while also not being "related to Cashman" (as opposed to acting like Cashman ran over your dog), we can see (or could have seen) how the "Yanks" are positioned to begin moving in a couple/few young homegrown players and will be a younger team.
Held onto all of their top prospects-
Have a 25 yr old SS (via Cashman steal of a deal) who did well in 2015.
Acquired a 26 year old very good defensive outfielder, a switch hitter who YES is still a work in progress (as was Didi) yet did hit .307 vs LHP last year while batting .236 vs RHP, not exactly the end of the world.
They have now also opened up a spot for their top minor league prospect/hitter who did well at AAA in 2015 and now also in the fall league- Gary Sanchez, a catcher...who by the way, wasn't traded away, lol.
Yanks have already inserted their best pitching prospect Severino into the SP rotation.
Have brought along Refsnyder 24 yrs old (2b) who was in fact in the starting lineup for the WC game.
Yanks also chose to use other young players (Mason Williams, Heathcott) to help out in 2015 due to injury instead of panicking....and both did well when they played.
Yanks are in a pretty good situation and covered at 1b with Greg Bird (at just 23 yrs old !) to take over for Tex (who DID VERY WELL in 2015) .

It's still undetermined on November 18 whether or not Gardy and/or Beltran will be with the team coming out of ST which could open up another spot for a young inexpensive homegrown player possibly Heathcott and/orWilliams, or a younger acquisition from a possible Gardy/Beltran trade (to be continued!)
.......with Judge hopefully ready to break in no later than 2017 and possibly 2016 if he progresses on schedule......and I think most of us would agree and realize Judge was and still is generally regarded as a VERY GOOD prospect.

I understand and realize the "majority" wants Cashman to snap his finger and make Arod and Beltran vanish immediately via trades or retirement.......and the tooth Fairy also says "hello"!

And last but not least -
Pease take notice➡ During the remainder of this off season, I have no problem disagreeing and criticizing moves and deals made by Cashman...No problem at all- I am not beholden to him.
And, if the Yanks don't ultimately show improvement in 2016 I will personally move front and center lambasting Cashman and calling for a new GM.
All clear? Good.

...that's about the size of it, Tote...didn't realize that I was so articulate This Vulcan Mind Control software I purchased is even better than the "Dealing With Dumbasses" software I implemented last year.

* and don't forget, I also have Rick and Matts under my spell as well *

Your powers are useless on me.

Thanks guys for the explanations, I get it now. lol

The New York Daily News reports that the Yankees and Cubs have discussed a swap of Brett Gardner and Starlin Castro as per Mark Feinsand.

^^^loling @ "the plan".

Loling...@" The Plan"....gufaw gufaw....hee haw....

Gardner for Castro?
After watching the clown the Cubs had in LF (defense) during
the NLCS, I would also be interested in Gardner.....and Castro (25) could solve the Yanks 2b issue for the next few years......"loling"......hee haw hee haw......Casro's contract?➡ Yanks will be dropping Gardner's salary, and HOW MUCH more after 2016/2017?......"loling"......hee haw....hee haw.....
Um, Lil?....paying attention to any of this? This is a good example of some of the things I touched on in my "explanation" regarding The Plan and this Board.
It's a good time to poll the board regarding this trade rumor.
I would do it if I were the Yanks for reasons listed- age, team need, manageable with current and future payroll.

Step right up. Rick? Waddya think about "the trade" Yes/No?

LOL Really? My answer would be a no.

Solving 2B? The guy has played a grand total of 38 career games at 2B & not very well & his main position SS has been no picnic either. Last year he had 18 errors in only 109 games. So no to Mr. hands of stone. Younger & less money yes but all things considered I think we can be more practical then SS/2B men that we really don't need. OH..............LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL.
