Game Thread Yankees @ Angels 6/29/15 10:05PM

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

I'll go out on a limit here Rob & say..................................................................................................................................NEVER!

So You've also have had that same gut wrenching feeling too, ..... worse than a Ulcer.........

So heartwarming to watch our team fail to take advantage of opponents losses to gain ground.

CC certainly did NOT pitch a "GOOD" game but he didn't exactly bury the team in a deep hole going 7.1 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 1 BB....but he is allowing much much too many HRs which is indeed his undoing.

Yanks (Young) were denied a few more runs by Trout making outstanding catches on drives over his head towards the CF wall WITH RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION and runners on base.

I guess the Yanks would've been better off if they (Young) instead would've gotten one or two bloop singles over the SS head....lol.....it surely would've helped score more runs and of course it would've (lol) improved their team ba w/risp.

That's baseball!
All losses hurt but this one is a bit easier to swallow as the great Mike Trout literally took matters into his own hands.

Still time to take 2/3 from Angels and go 4-3 on the road trip, and -imo- going 3-4 on the Yanks' last "West Coast" trip of the season isn't so bad in the scheme of things as July arrives.

GO YANKS!

There you go again thinking 4 runs in 7 innings (an ERA over 5) is a good performance. Unbelievable.

Just what the hell is wrong with you? Now stop the crap, will ya?
Where in this thread did I say CC had a "good performance"?
I have already said...I was giving him the first two months of the season to get going and become a good consistent SP before I "pull the plug" on him...AND Drew.

I have no problem, and would indeed remove him from the rotation in favor of Warren AND probably some kid from the minors who is doing well.

What's wrong with you Rick? Spoiling for a beef with me? lol

And what about those two hard hit line drives over Trout's head which he made outstanding plays on?....WITH RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION and runners on base?

Can you see where SOMETIMES your "BA w/risp" can be a bit misleading and/or also not telling the whole story in specific games and circumstances?

Of course I would've preferred a couple of nice clean line drive singles from Young in those at bats...but he instead drove two hard liners towards the CF wall which Trout needed to make terrific catches to save the Angels' asses.

And if Young instead would've gotten two broken bat bloop singles you would've been pointing to the Yanks "coming through in the clutch" in the box score risp department.... lmao. The idea is to try and get GOOD WOOD on the ball, not try and get bloop hits.

Oh well, as the sayin' goes....that's baseball.

..."if"?...LMAO...but "bloop hits" ARE part of the RISP stat...as well are line drives that are caught.

...like shootin' fish in a barrel.

bloop hits....part of the game...of course they look like line drives in the box score.
Just like smashing a hard hit two hopper directly at one of the infielders becomes 0-1 w/risp. Yep, that's the way the cookie sometimes crumbles.

blg is this an act, By saying of CC, "He didn't exactly bury the team in a deep hole going 7.1 IP & 4 ER you're excepting that as an okay performance". And you ask whats wrong with ME? I don't know where you're performing next but I wouldn't mind catching one of your shows, you're a funny guy.

They scored one run. This is like debating what's worse shit or puke.

That hasn't gone unnoticed either Vic, there's plenty of blame to go around, both the pitching & offense has sucked. But to hear blg sing it, all is well in Yankee land.

Now you're really nitpicking.....he pitched more than 7innings allowing 4 R for a team which averages approx 5 runs per game and you think it's "funny" or "wrong" to say he kept the team in the game AND I also mentioned he did NOT bury them in a deep hole.
He had allowed 3 runs after 6 innings and another run in the 7th inning....and you're having a major problem with me saying he kept them in the game and didn't bury them? Get real. No, it wasn't a GOOD game...it wasn't so bad either..and don't give me this projected ERA crap - I'm talking about YESTERDAYS game, here and now....and I would say the same thing if Warren or Nova did it.

No, I don't welcome all SP allowing 4 runs in EVERY START....so don't twist my words around.

I think you may, perhaps, possibly be having a problem with CC being the pitcher we're discussing instead of some other non-ace pitcher....guess what...?......if it were any other of the Yankee pitchers the same could still apply in this case.

I know CC has sucked this year...I get it....I can read the numbers....sounds as if you prefer nothing short of 7-9 IP and allowing 3 or less runs every game from every pitcher.

And I want to win the lottery and live in a happy dream land.

..no, but at $23 Mil this year and $25 next year, it would be nice every once in awhile.

And I want to win the lottery and live in a happy dream land.

...it appears that your wish has already been granted.

Thank you very much.....but may I add, pertaining to CC's salary, just because someone (Yanks) chooses to spend alot of money on a decent sound used car, this doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get similar performance in the next couple/few years.

But you already knew this, didn't you? lol

Okay '59, lol, want to wrap this up?

Um....I'll just repeat what I have said not too long ago-
"there's still plenty of time left in this season for the Yanks to finish in last place in this division"

And as Casey used to say: you can look it up.
Now could you please stop putting words in my mouth and casting a poor light on me?

Please READ my FULL posts and try to break out of your prejudged assumptions.
I believe you have some fetish refusing to aknowledge when I am correct, or NOT off base.....and I am NOT always "right" nor do I believe I CAN'T be proven wrong......just like YOU and anyone else on this board.

So lets just be comfortable in our skin and kick around thoughts and dialogue without constantly badmouthing or disagreeing with someone who takes a different route in evaluating and judging a baseball team during the course of the season.

Do I think the Yanks have serious problems? YES...SP.
Do I think there's enough time to overcome and correct the problem?
YES

Will they? I don't know, that's why they play the schedule (games).
Fair enough?

...it doesn't mean we should be content with a fucking ERA of nearly 6.00 either...but you already knew this, didn't you?

Okay '59, lol, want to wrap this up?

...wrap what up?...I'll post what I please when I please...if you wanna bow out that up to you.

...you've flip flopped and/or rode both sides of the fences so many times, even you don't know what you've said anymore.

..."that's why they play the games"....wow, that's some sphincter tightening analysis.

...you were fellating this team since before the season began...and when they play well you start flapping your arms and cock holster...and when the play poorly you either develop lock jaw or disappear for awhile...or either make excuses or cherry pick obscure and half baked hand pick stats to make things still look rosey.

...you're full of shit.

I never suggested when you should post...I just asked if you want to end this dialogue.
And CC should be removed from the rotation.....
...what do you want from me? I'm not calling the shots.

jeez

Now '59, I have to say....I think you're off base or misunderstanding me...
Where have I flip flopped....? Regarding CC and Drew, I have said since ST I will give them a couple of months..which WAS more slack than "the board" was willing to give both of them.

Please specify where (in your mind) I have flip flopped.

...uhhh, like I said...I'll finish with this "dialogue" when I feel like it.

It's not an easy situation with Sabathia. Not making excuses for management but when a big money guy who was very successfull hits what looks like the end of the line. It's not the best of circumstances.

...not at all in my mind...and there's no misunderstanding. And nobody is putting words in your mouth. Like I said, you've been doing this sort of shit for months.

...first, you spout"the Yankees are currently in 1st place"....then ""there's still plenty of time left in this season for the Yanks to finish in last place in this division"

...
earlier you were crowing about how solid this pitching staff is, but now it's "Do I think the Yanks have serious problems? YES...SP.,,,Do I think there's enough time to overcome and correct the problem?...YES.....Will they? I don't know.

...in other words you have no fucking clue what you're saying or what you mean.

...like I said, you've spewed so much fence riding BS, you don't even remember what you've said.

lol I feel like I'm listening to Mike Francesa's show with what goes on here.

I'll say it again, when it comes to Sabathia someone needs to grow a pair of balls & make a decision.

"Do I keep sending this worthless tub of lard out every 5-6 days & just chalk up a loss just because I'm tremendously over paying him?" Or.......

"Do I go with a kid who's been our most productive starter over the last month & gives the team a better chance of winning"?

Gee, let me see now...:hcp: DOH!!

I believe it's called the ebb and flow of a baseball season.....
I cheer when they do well...and I'm not uncomfortable ripping them new asswholes if need be.

The Yanks are a game out of FIRST PLACE on JUNE 30 and some of these people are tripping over themselves criticizing the team....LMAO.
Should be ashamed of yourselves - IMO....lol

I made and "submitted" my preseason expectations.
I could've just as easily played it safe and covered my ass with a nice safe "prediction" of anywhere from 81 - 87/88 wins.

Fine and dandy....my first "prediction"... thus far...is THIS team WILL score considerably more runs than last year's team is right on target.....why did I compare them with last year's team?......very simple....what the fuk else should I compare them with when discussing YANKEES?

My second hope (prediction, guess, presumption) was....in order for the 2015 team to have a "GOOD" W-L record ( APPROX 90 WINS) the team ERA needs to be in, or fairly close to THE TOP THIRD in the league team ERA.

There ya go...you asked for it..I repeated it.
Take it or leave it....and I DO REALIZE I could be wrong.
I laid it out there.....it's my opinion...now grow up...it's only BASEBALL!

No, CC is not a used car, but if he were one, he'd be up on all fours with Jack stands at each axle, with a Ford Pinto engine dripping oil at a drop per second, while the delay in CC this yr was to change out the Pinto engine, with a Vega engine, or kia, what's the difference, a used car is does not come back to new life, neither does CC, he's toast and fkn done for, with his 5.07 era, and you want to justify His ERA cuz the team normally scores 5 runs, give me an effing break............I've read & heard it all............

I don't even want to read it let alone hear it.........CC's fkn toast, with no butter......  Warren s/b left as a SP; while CC can sleep all he wants in the Pen........like in this convo..........I'm going back to:
