ok, 9-6 after Headley homers. Lets close this one out.

9-6 victory but still concerned with Tanaka.

In Tanaka's last three outings he has given up 26 hits in 17 innings.

Yankees had the lucky horseshoe up their butts again. Offense is scoring, pitching is snoring, can't keep giving up runs in heaps and gobs after getting leads. I don't know what is up with Tank but the "Braintrust" needs to find that man what he needs to succeed.

You can't tell me he's just going to be able to keep pitching through it with that arm. You have to be very concerned.

I totally agree with your take Vic. IMHO, Tanaka should of been flat out told, you must undergo TJ surgery or go back to Japan.....

I for one, have had numerous Ligament tears, shoulders, elbows, knees, etc. to sit and wait a year for those tears to heal, is fkn ridiculous, they don't repair themselves properly at all, not without a good Surgeon......

why they call tears, Strains is also fkn ridiculous, a tear is a fkn tear, be it partial or full, either way, they don't mend proper without the knife......

I can't help but think Tanaka's camp is screwing the Yanx big time, by milking out his arm probs. Keep it up, and I'd release his ass.......

From what I have read there's so little blood flow that they simply just don't heel. I simply don't believe three doctors told him not to have surgery when every other pitcher goes under the knife. Christ Matt Harvey had it done for crying out loud. This screams of Tanaka's decision overriding common sense. While the surgery is a risk and offers no guarantee the amount of TJ surgeries kind of tells me it's the way to go.

The more I see Tanaka the more I see that he's just not the same pitcher the Yankees signed. Despite what he & Girardi are saying there HAS to be something wrong.

Yeah a tear in his elbow.

He should have just had the surgery when it happened because his pitches aren't fooling anybody & he obviously doesn't have the command that he showed during his first few months.

A year of recovery time and rehab has been wasted by not having it.

...first of, it was also only a "10% tear" and so the decision not to have the surgery was based on the very best Doctors advising the Yanx not to have it done....Tanaka's stuff is the same as before but his command and location are what hurting him..that's not physical.
...The Yanx also took the advice from the Doctors because there's always a chance that the surgery and recovery does not work as intended and the pitcher never returns to form...you just never know.
...Pineda has been just as inconsistent and his problem is not physical either.

...that fact is, none of us knows for sure what the situation is.
