RHP - Masahiro Tanaka (12-6, 3.40 ERA)

VS.

LHP - Steven Matz (3-0, 1.88 ERA)

Yankees Note: FWIW: (To me nothing) With 2 more runs scored Alex Rodriquez would join Hank Aaron as the only players in MLB history with at least 3000 hits, 2000 RBI and 2000 runs scored.

Lineups to follow.......

CF - Gardner
3B - Headley
RF - Beltran
LF - Young
1B - Bird
C - Murphy
SS - Gregorius
2B - Ryan
P - Tanaka

Yesterday was an off day, Is McCann hurt?

Time to kick some New York National butt, the stat most important to me is the Yankees with a W.

Just beat them is right. I listened to just 30 minutes of the Met fans on WFAN this morning and wanted to vomit.

The Mets acquired some players who put lead in their pencil while Cashmen kept his team flaccid. That's the kind of stuff that pisses off Yankee Fans at this time of the yea. The Orioles found a way around Verlander, Scherzer and Price against Detroit, the Yankees will have to do the same in this series.

Here's a hint, "This is...Jeopardy"

Okay then I'll take what's behind door #3 Bob.......

wrong game, doh-

Okay Trebec, I'll take the Pen-is mightier than the sword, or Jap-an-US-relations.........

I can't believe we actually have to root for the Red Sox tonight........

Oh my, Rick wait til you see this jacked up Lineup......WTF???

Tonight's lineup (what it is) is posted in the OP.

Our leading HR hitter (A-Rod) is out of the order so we mine as well keep our #2 HR guy (McCann) out of the order also. What the hell is Joe thinking?

Smoking crack I suppose..................

Not for nothing but is it that hard to see that a lefty is going tonight.

...again, I know McCann had an off day yesterday but tomorrow is a day game after a night game. I'm guessing if Joe is going to give McCann a break it would make more sense to rest him tonight vs the LHer (he can always come off the bench later in the game) and play him tomorrow vs Syndergaard (RHer)

Yes, with lefty going and an afternoon game tomorrow McCann was going to sit for one of the games.

What are McCann's numbers against lefties?

He's not terrible but tomorrow is a 1:05PM game vs a right hander and Sunday you have another right handed pitcher in Harvey going. Since McCann is not playing both games anyway it's better to sit him with the lefties tonight against Matz.

I forgot tomorrow was a day game. Point taken.

Gardner better have his head out of his ass tonight.

Nathan Eovaldi (elbow) conceded Friday that his best-case scenario would be to "come back and help the Bullpen, depending on how deep we go" as per Daniel Barbarisi.
