Wait...if this is Cashman's plan, fine....but he needs to articulate it.

As long as he sticks to a plan rather than changing every couple of weeks

If Cash-box continues to make up the rules as he goes along, then I'd expect the rules to change weekly.

When it comes to foreign players and the Amateur or Pan-Am drafts, all I can think of, is the 1$ Million bonus given to the 16 year old Venezuelan Catcher, Jesus Montero......it's like a nightmare stuck in my head, NTM-the BS Hype that went with Montero, the next Catching Phenom at only 16, and/or "The next Johnny Bench"......flipping unbelievable, enough to make me lose my religion.....or faith in these drafts....

...seems more like he's making it up as he goes along.

As I've said in the recent past - Cashman has refused to part with any of his top prospects in trade inquiries.
Severino and Judge are probably just as sought after and are as highly coveted as just about any other organization's prospect PITCHER/HITTER-PLAYER tandem.

Sounds like somebody could be on the verge of eating some Cashman Pie.

...please leave me your business card...and when your opinion becomes important to me, I'll call you.

Get ready to say "ahh".....lol

Seriously, what the hell are you doing? You've gone from being a decent poster, always good with the exchange of ideas & being (for the most part) pretty informative. to being a complete.....I've got to be careful here, (Don't want to ruffle Denny's feathers) Okay what the hell?
Snap out of it.

...I finally just stopped responding to him...like I said in an earlier post, I truly believe he's drunk 1/2 the time.

Thank you sir may I have another?

It's okay Rick....[Snip]
It's all fun to me.....I didn't think it was such an outrageous idiotic statement when I said (IMO of course) Gardner's and the Yanks' biggest/bigger problem was - in Gardner's case - getting on base more often and - in the Yanks' case - scoring more runs.

So we went back and forth on it for a while... needless to say I took a few hits from the board and "you" got your money's worth. lol

Do you actually think I'm not aware of Gardner's timidity when it comes to SB attempts?
I just believe it's more important for him to raise a couple of his batting stats.

That's all. It's over. No problem, all good.

All that patting on my head is going to leave a bald spot.

You mean you don't have that Horse Shoe Hair-Do? J/K, I saw you, like I, have a full head of hair, when I saw your Pic on FB......Hey, I couldn't help myself Rick, ol' Buddy...! (smile-shit eating grin)

Yeah Rob currently its past my shoulders. But only for another week, as soon as my niece gets back from vacation it comes off & goes to LOCKS OF LOVE for the cancer kids. I do it every few years, just my way of giving back. This is now my 5th or 6th time doing it & also my last. I'm been pretty lucky up to now with the lack of grey hair but its starting to catch up to me. Besides, long hair is annoying.

Its one thing to joke and tease, but when things get taken the wrong way and/or others pile on.....we've lost the purpose of the discussion.

Back on topic.....not buying that Cashman is protecting top prospects per say, he just hasn't been offered any sweetheart deals. This off season charts as a completely random series of activities thus far. And anyone that believes he has a plan, that's fine, I just want an explanation/justification for signing Drew. Let's start with the indefensible, lol!

I'm also questioning the signing of Drew but watch him hit 10-15 HRs drive in 50 or 60 & play flawlessly in the field.............................................or not.

Honestly I don't ever foresee Drew living up to his early career hype as any kind of Hitter, less than a low .200 range hitter.

With the Glove, he could be sufficient, but NEVER with that bat, with holes in it, the size of baseballs...

Here's the thing. I don't mind a shift in mindset to get younger. What I don't like is just accumulating young project players in hope that they can be turned around.

Well said.

I mean I'm just sick and tired of it. If you want to try and stockpile draft picks and young players than fine. Compiling shit and then saying but hey they're young is just ridiculous. I hope I'm proven wrong but to me as it currently stands this team is worse off than last year. Sure, some on the roster might have some improvements over last year but how many more wins does that translate to?

Vic I feel the same way, Sometime back I printed the SUBTRACTIONS & ADDITIONS that this team has pulled off since this past season ended & I wasn't alone when I said that I just don't see where we've done anything to improve this club over last years team. Someone here predicted 90+ wins for 2015. Sorry but unless Beltran, Teixeira & McCann can improve there numbers over last year, Tanaka can give us a full season & CC & Pineda can stay healthy, that it's going to be tough just to match last years win total.

To be honest though... Until the bad contracts of A-Rod, CC, Tex, Beltran, Ellsbury, & possibly McCann come off the books, I don't see what can really be done other than not continuing to repeat that same mistake...

A-Rod ($21M in 2015, $20M in 2016, & $20M in 2017) = $61M

Sabithia ($23M in 2015, $25M in 2016 & $25M in 2017) = $73M

Teixeira ($22.5M in 2015, $22.5M in 2015) = $45M

The above pretty much equals a 500 team for the next 3 years.

2-3 years before we can expect another spending splurge from the Yanks?
In 2 years Beltran and Tex (2015/2016) will be off the books and Arod after 2017?

For now the Yanks are (IMO) going to give at least 3-4 young players every chance to win a spot on the 2015 team.
Gregorious, Refsnyder, Pirela, Lindgren or some other kid reliever...and Warren may also be in the SP rotation.

Yanks are..I think/hope doing their best to get younger while still carrying the weight of those contracts.
And they are not crazy in thinking Beltran and CC are NOT washed up quite yet.
