FOX Sports reports that the Nationals are "pursuing" free agent Yoenis Cespedes and have made him an offer as per Ken Rosenthal.
 
^^^my guess is that considering the Nats reputation for questionable decisions and contracts, they probably offered Cespedes 4 years or more.
 
Tampa Bay Times reports that the Rays have signed Steve Pearce to a 1 year contract as per Marc Tompkin.
 
MLB Network reports that the Nationals are serious about signing Yoenis Cespedes as per Jon Heyman.
 
Aroldis Chapman will not face criminal charges in Davie, Florida for his October domestic incident as per South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
 
Speaking of Chapman I still don't see the Yankees hanging onto BOTH he & Miller. Also The Yankees & Chapman are about $4M apart in arbitration.
 
...I think maybe that now he's been "cleared", it makes him much more attractive to the Yanx, as well as possible trade suitors.

Yeah so did I unfortunately the weather reports have taken over the news. Are you guys getting a blizzard or just some snow???
 
Now they're saying only 4-8 inches but with these guys, who the hell knows.

^^^I agree & wouldn't it be something if the Mets lost there 2 best hitters Murphy & Cespedes to there biggest division rivals. From what I've read though in today's paper the Mets will be meeting with Cespedes later today. My feelings, the Mets should resign him. JMO.

BTW: in other news "THE NUT HAS FOUND A JOB", Fernando Rodney (39) has signed a one year contract with the San Diego Padres. Rodney is expected to take over the closer roll vacated by Craig Kimbal who was traded to the Red Sox.
 
New York Daily News reports that Yoenis Cespedes' agents The Roc Nation Group reached out to the Yankees to gauge interest in the outfielder as per John Harper.
 
Since it doesn't appear that the team will be trading away Gardner & they already have him, Ellsbury, Beltran & Hicks for the outfield, Cespedes doesn't seem very likely. Plus I just don't see the Yankees adding another $20M yearly contract to the payroll at this time.
 
According to the Denver Post the Rockies have engaged in serious talks with free agent Yovani Gallardo as per Patrick Saunders.
 
MLB Network reports that the Mets have agreed to a 3 year 75 million contract with Yoenis Cespedes as per Jon Heyman.
 
^^^unreal...like I've been saying, when it soon comes time for a new CBA, I don't wanna hear any whining from the owners claiming that they're going broke.
 
And here's the real joke on the Cespedes deal, he has an opt out clause after the 1st year.

Not only will I never run out of friends but there's a few I'd like to get rid of. As far as A-Rod, since we're friends ask him if I can have a few thousand dollars I could really use it.

I can't keep up with him he is all over the place. I will see him on March 25th when I go to the game. He promised me he would sign a couple of balls, after he does that I will ask him for some money. :biglaugh:

Okay, get me a signed ball, who knows maybe it'll be worth something in 20-30 years.
 
CSN Mid Atlantic.com reports that free agent reliever Tommy Hunter is holding out for a 2 year contract as per Rich Dubroff.
 
I'd say Tommy Hunter has a pair of balls & should take what he can get. One good season 5 years ago with Texas & he's done very little since.
