Theeeeeeeeeeee Yankees win!!!

Five in a row, already won the Angel series and since getting swept by Texas they've won 9/12 - the three losses coming in Oakland now looking more like a fluke and not the Yanks being an inconsistent ".500" team.

The person who decided to put Reynolds and Verducci in the booth needs his head examined.

Harold Reynolds is a major JO. I still wonder how he manages to keep a job like a few others on MLB. He's just offended because his Seattle Team is getting its ass kicked this season. I think Verducci just hates the Yankees.

Surprised that this game wasn't tight as a tick, expected to see both starters do well but Richards feel off of the cliff. Nice job by Warren the man has been a surprise. Very happy that Mc Cann has seemed to find his bat, ah shit forgot about those cheap YS bombs. Always good to see the Yankees kick the shit out of the Angels,

MLB network is very disappointing and Verducci does seem to be stingy with any compliments regarding the Yankees.

Don't go that far. 500 is not that fr away.

I saw the game out here on Fox Sports West.......

I was kinda' shocked to hear Harold Reynolds, even mention the fkn Homer Rex Hudler, The worst MLB (Angels) Broadcaster for a few years too many; on FSW.

When the Yanx came to play the Halos, Hudler was so fkn horrible, I'd turn on the radio for the play by play, just so I would NOT have to hear Hudler's Homeristic take on everything. Any opposing Pitcher could be in the middle of a Perfect Game, but Hudler would never mention anything the opposing team did right, or resulted in points against the Halos. All Hudler was capable of talking about was how flipping great Tim Salmon was, really, ........give me a fkn break.......

Thus, for HR to mention Hudler, reveals IMO, the fact HR is a fkn Homer too......likes attract......?

I understand.
There's plenty of time left in this season for the Yanks to finish last in their division.
They have had a rough schedule up to this point (travel-wise) and maybe they could begin putting something together with a few homestands.

...well, is it the 2nd fastest or the 6th fastest...we ARE talking about actual times and not run differential, right?

Blg is correct, effin Costa's misspoke. 2nd fastest Belmont for a TC winner (Secretariat still owns track records for all 3 races). 6th fastest Belmont for the 1.5mi race....Belmont length was set to that distance in 1926.

The Kentucky Derby was slow this year, but that race time is a factor of the field size and pace. Preakness time was also a little slower than normal but the race was on a sloppy track in a downpour. It was obvious, going back and watching the races over that AP was being held back until late in all 3 races. Very well executed strategy by the trainers and jockey, matched by the horses performance.

So....of the past 11 TC winners, 5 came in years that the Yanks won the world series (1937, 1941, 1943, 1977 and 1978).

...gotcha...I showed my wife the video of the Secretariat race from start to finish, and believe it or not, she had never seen it...still gives me goose bumps whenever I watch it. It's probably the most dominating sports event I've ever witnessed.

About on par with winning the Indy500 by 15.5 miles (~3% total distance as the margin of victory).

1989 Preakness -
Sunday Silence vs Easy Goer was one of the most thrilling races I've ever seen.
Breathtaking.
Easy Goer was the "big name" horse and Sunday Silence beat him in the Derby and a fabulous Preakness putting him in position to win the TC....
....then Easy Goer came back and showed a lot of balls beating Silence in the Belmont.

Sunday Silence had/has become one of those Thoroughbred fan favorites/cultish heroes. Check out the '89 Preakness - great duel!

Affirmed v Alydar the best duel in triple crown horse racing....not even debatable.

Absolutely..agree.
But that '89 Preakness was awesome. lol
Down the stretch Easy Goer looked as if he actually turned his head and took a long look at Sunday Silence who gave a quick look in return.... Then Easy Goer turned away quickly and Sunday Silence pulled ahead a little bit...

Ironic thing about Affirmed and Alydar....
Affirmed won the races but Alydar was clearly the better sire. (?) lol
