Chapman is NOT an Elite Closer; wild as a grizzly bear on the streets of the Bronx, but not as feared...

A wonder any opponents bother to take bats off their shoulders let alone swing at any of his wild offerings...

Sweet Play by Gardner 2 save this game. I only wish Brett had a stronger arm, good enough I guess that's all that counts

Note to Sanchez- you cannot improve your Mendoza Line batting average by swinging at balls and watching strikes go by...

Wow, talk about dodging a bullet ...Sanchez barely brushed the runners jersey trying to score.

It doesn't get any closer than that. I'm kind of surprised the umpire crew got that call right, as pitiful as they have been this series & this year. Seems like umpires are only getting worse over the last couple years...

Good thing Scheurwater is not behind the plate,-

Walker with the Lucky Horseshoe of t/game award, only t/4th walkoff RBI in his career, (9th yr), 1,090th MLB game... Walker's highest RBI total over 1 year: 83 ribbies (2011 w/t Bucs), 1st round draft pick by Pitt.

Gardner imo, is making a case to play daily, & is hitting .312 in his last 8 games...

Before the Walker game winning single, my stomach was in distress. Forget about how my brain feels!
I have been cursing all afternoon. The grandkids had to be banned from grandpa’s den. LOL

One helluva sloppy game several ways; yet not void of several Hero's; tho' not pretty a Wins a Win ...

23 Yanx LOB - !!! 20 A's LOB....

A major aspect of the game, we read or hear little to nothing about i.e. performance levels of early games; after a long night prior.

Yanx and All MLB teams have looked like zombie sleepwalkers during Early games. Easy to see why for anyone, any team, usually &/or often not firing on all cylinders. It's hard to imagine as a spectator, harder to imagine the older one gets (speaking for myself).

By the time players finish a night game, shower, do post game interviews, eat and make it home for a bit of sleep. Get up earlier than normal, eat, drive back to t/stadium, dressout, get in any short pre-game workout, then play at high levels. The average amount of sleep, rest and recovery, is commonly diminshed time wise. But then, youth enables athletes to defy practicality, pushing t/envelopes of performance at high levels under the least practical of circumstances and conditions. Hell, its all I can do just to get up in time to watch an a.m. game, in fact if it weren't for a early Yanx game on TV, I'd sleep past the 10am PST game time.

Other than Toronto having its Hotel rooms in t/stadium, I've often wondered what or IF MLB teams have sleeping quarters &/or personal player suites in these newer stadiums. If not, why not??

...LOL...same here.

The wind are great but it always comes down to pitching. They will need a solid pitcher before the deadline.

MUCH more solid pitching...that's what it come down to in the PS. I mean, I'd expect good pitching vs opposing teams in the PS but if you can't match them with solid pitching of your own, you're in trouble.

Not to mention the fact that Betances, Robertson, and Chapman are inconsistent as hell too.

Had to go to the 11th to win by one. Torres and Stanton were the only guys who did not produce a hit. Gardner in the lead batter position went 2 for 4 !!!!!
thpitcher catch.gif < What a great responsive catch by this pitcher!

what, really? What are you going to pull off? Judges Jersey now thats worth more than I have...

PS- ya' ever wonder why it takes so long for Rothschild to hook a pitcher? He's got to get Boone's permission, Boone's got to get Trashmans permission, who's got to get Hals permission....
Looks like.....Sounds like Government Procedure.

AJ Cole walked 1 strike to t/1st 2 in t/10th; setting t/table for a possible disaster

I think Trashman signed the wrong Cole. AJ instead of Gerrit Cole.
In all fairness I was against signing Gerrit, even tho' AJ questionable at best imo, holding his own by the skin of his nails...

Hindsights 20/20, and I don't like to 2nd guess much (even tho' I do as much too often), especially over players who appear to be washed up like Gerrit Cole.

Aren't Scouts supposed to know what no one else does??? To see potential with a supposed washed up SP... Even then, some players are totally unpredictable, given different situations, like being traded to a better offensive team, shoring up Pitchers who may otherwise continue to appear washed up, done for...

Gerrit Cole found new life in Houston. Now in hindsight being 20/20, Gerrit's found new life in Houston:
4W-1L, 1.43 ERA, 8 GS, 1 SHO, 30 hits over 59.2 IP, 80K's vs 12 BB's, most impressive G. Cole stats:
WHIP/ 0.741
Hits per 9 IP/ 4.8
HR/9 - 0.5
BB/9 - 1.9
SO's/9 - 13.7 (Leads League)
SO/W 7.17
