Gardner had a horrible series at the plate as well. Time to move on.

Btw if you are going to sit in the front row of the outfield you better not be hiding your head when a home run ball is coming to you

Especially with the weak hitting lefty Maria nick on deck. Boone should have ordered the walk at

After he fell behind how do you call for a high slider? Makes no sense when he kills the high pitch.

Series Pitching Numbers

One of the thoughts from guys who cover the team is there will be more changes than we think. I agree with them as all the regular season wins in the world don't matter when you see a lineup come up so small again in the postseason. They didn't face Verlander and Cole every game.

This is the fourth ALCS loss since 2010. This is also the third time the Astros have eliminated them in that span. This offseason will be vital because these windows can close very quickly.

Felt bad for Gardner, LeMahieu, GT, and Urshela, those guys were all around cowboys on both sides of the dish. As for the rest not so much so. Disappointed in the poor offense of Judge with no expectations at all for Stanton ( the newest Ellsbury) or Sanchez. Felt that Romine would have been the better choice for the in game catcher. There were many coulda, shoulda, woulda incidents in this series but the Yankees in the end were simply out played. From the '15 Season forward I watched an average od 140 games per year. Come game time I was right there but that won't happen in Twenty. I'm quite sure at Day 1 of Spring Training will find Steinbrenner, Cashman, and Boner right back in charge. Sorry boys, I've caught you act and it stinks.

Just too many bats coming up small in the post season. Gardner for example is a sub .200 hitter in over sixty career playoff games. It's not all his fault and he has done a lot for this team. But when you have a team built to try and win you can't ignore this futility.

As far as this off season, there are a few I hope I don't see in pinstripes again...in no particular order;

Ottavino
Happ
Sanchez
Voit
Chapman
Parrot
Stanton
Bird

i think there will be a lot of changes also

Brett Gardner: another player who many agreed should not have been given an extra tear. Toast he was and down to a 5th or 5th outfielder. So this old dumb dude suddenly got more playing time because the studs like Hicks, Stanton, and Judge were riding the sick books and unable to play. Gardner stepped up huge for this team hitting some timely home runs and making some great defensive catches. Bad arm or not the man flat out saved the Yankees outfield. Were the Yankees to win the World Series Gardner would be the player I'd be most happy for, on the other hand most sorry for if they lose. Gardner, LeMahieu, Urshela, and GT were the best all around cowboys in the '19 Yankee rodeo.

No one looks more serious about his trade than Gardner. He carries that serious look into every game. I think Cashman will sign him to another contract mostly because he stays healthy and compared to Stanton, can produce more consistently .

I just don't like his postseason career numbers. Under .200 in 61 games you cannot have that in every postseason game.

For me, Ottovan0 Stanton Happ and Voit is out because of DJ.
