...been the same all year with Eovaldi...he has the stuff but he needs to be more efficient. I'd like to see him go deeper in games.

All I can say is another knuckle ball pitcher.

..."knuckle baller"?...maybe Joe should tell his guys to bunt. :drumroll:

The Jays made some heavy additions, Yankees got Ackley. Getting serious, got to avoid the dingers, hopefully the starters get further into games. The last game I saw in old Yankee Stadium was against Toronto. Also lets hope that the Yankees draw an exuberant boisterous crowd.

And then Ackley landed himself on the DL...

knowin the great strategist we have at the helm, only arod and tex are to try and lay one down, the rest will swing for the tape measured

And they brought back Jones.

Un fucking believable, every day I check the sports headlines hoping I'll read that Cashman has been fired and everyday I am disappointed that he's still with the team.

...simply mind boggling, isn't it?

Who has hit two late inning game deciding HRs for WINS (at Seattle).
Not too bad for a spare part 1b/RF/DH.......I know some were expecting a "good" YOUNG ATHLETIC top prospect type player for THAT role...but it didn't....and usually DOESN'T happen that way. :ughno:

...ahhh, still complaining about moves that actually worked out...did Girardi fuck your GF or something?

I can only imagine the complaining if they weren't in first place. Enjoy the season Pasta and let go of the Girardi hate.

This doesn't look like a good matchup for Yanks - Dickey has been doing his thing, over his last four starts - averaging over 7 IP per start and not allowed more than 2 runs in a game.
Eovaldi gives up alot of hits....and the Jays have been mashing and
I think they have homered in every game but one after the All Star break.
Two things come to mind to help Yanks chances:

Maybe Dickey is due for somewhat of a letdown game, but I won't bet on it.
Maybe Eovaldi surprises us with an exception game of 6 innings.

And relevant to this game and post - speaking of Eovaldi and possibly giving us 6 exceptional innings...... and ONE meltdown and JUNE.....
Something along the lines of what CC provided yesterday would be nice-
6 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 8K (struck out Ortiz with loaded bases on two great curveballs and a 94 mph fastball) with the game on the line - close to vintage CC "stuff" helping the Yanks win 2-1 to hold the current lead.
Big at bat in the rubber game vs a last place team vs a good dangerous hitter who already beat them the previous day with a HOME RUN.

What have you done for me lately?

Show some balls....that's what Eovaldi can do tonight.

.....ah, what the heck- let's continue with meltdowns just for laughs, - take away two meltdowns for CC - one of which wasn't half as bad as Eovaldi's Miami meltdown - and he has a 4.07 ERA since June.

Where's the cherry picker Patrol? :smiley-smiley-049:

GO YANKS! Big Game tonight.

Sorry Rick...Girardi is to Pasta what Drew is to you. We've all got a hate crush on someone.

Play ball!

Allow me to re-phrase Tom, "Girardi is to Pasta what Drew is to E V E R Y O N E!"

You don't speak for everyone...even though you do try. Bless your little heart.

Okay let me put it this way, when it comes to Drew I believe I speak for anyone who knows anything about the game.:rolleyes2:

It seems like every once in awhile i have to remind you geezers , I don't hate girardi!!!!!

I believe there is more to coaching then standing on the top step, acting as if his first born child is taking his first step.

Would you feel better if he sat on the bench instead? I mean it's like saying all an NHL coach does it stand behind the bench.

Stupid NFL coaches, all they ever do is stand on the side lines.
