Game Thread Yankees vs. Blue Jays 8/07/15 7:05PM

I've got a really bad feeling about tonight. I hope I'm wrong.

Donaldson is a beast right now. 30th homer 81st RBI.

I know, what the hell was Beane thinking?

Eovaldi with 33 1st inning pitches is not long for this game.

Would you feel better if he sat on the bench instead? I mean it's like saying all an NHL coach does it stand behind the bench.

Lol!!!!! Yes I would, as a matter of fact, he should fall asleep like torre used too, then like kids do to a babysitter, RUN amok

Why the hell that took so long to over turn was a joke.

#30 for Tex ties it at 1-1. With that homer the Yankees tie their homer total from all of last season.

Yep, that was a head scratcher. Only explanation why it took so long is the replay guy in NY was taking a long shit.

Cone I'm begging you, please STFU. The Yankees really need to get this guy out of the booth.

Though his early season gem of "And Gardner slides into third with a stand up triple". will always be my favorite you know he's good for AT LEAST one good dumb statement a game.

Tonight we've heard, "A lead off hitter only leads off an inning once a game" &

Bautista's 234 batting average is deceiving because he's walked 71 times already". Wait................what?

Maybe he was inadvertently presuming those watching the game can add 2+2.
His walk total along with his deceiving BA gives him a .358 OBP leading to an OPS of .859,.and he has 24 HRs.

Sort of like when some on this board were complaining like hags when Tex' has a "low" batting avg yet still gets on base (OBP) at a GOOD pace and is hitting alot of HRs.
:smiley-puzzled:

This is going to be fun......I'm kinda like the equalizer.....lol

Another really good start by Eovaldi against a very tough lineup. A run or two would be nice.

It's not even worth watching these guys against a knuckle ball.

Chris "Mad Dog" Russo make a Center Stage with Michael Kay appearance this Wednesday.

I'm old:oldman: you young pup, I forgot.
...Beane traded Donaldson while he could still get the max value and return on him and he traded him because he knew the A's would not be able to afford what Donaldson would be awarded through his first year of being arby eligible, which is after this season.

Another case where I would've left Wilson in the game. Betances comes in and can't find the plate.

Thankfully got out of the jam. My point is that if you're going to have a seventh inning guy or guys stop cutting their balls off constantly.

...cutting their balls off?...there's no written rule that the pitcher who starts the 7th, 8th, 9th has to finish them. Managers are so into metrics nowadays and the trend is to play the odds and put your best pitcher in position to pitch based on matchup stats.

It's beating a dead horse but five me a break against the knuckle ball. I know it's tough but these guys look completely pathetic against it.

Kind of makes you wonder why more guys don't practice it.

It's not the point. If you have guys for the seventh inning give them a chance for once.

...actually, it is the point...again, there's no designated pitcher for specific innings.

...Miller has pitched the 8th and 9th innings this year.
...Betances has pitched the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings this year.
...Wilson has pitched the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th innings this year.

i don't know how anyone watching this game, evoldi pitchin his heart out, drew up with 1 out late in game , shift on for what ever the reason is i have no idea, basically the whole left side of infield open, and not even an attempt to go that way? don't give me you know how hard it is to hit a knuckleball crap either.... guy is hittin a buk96 and is swingin for the fences. it is time for you who think i'm nuts for callin out girardi, to start!

Down the road someone is going to throw 3 knuckleballers
in a series against these Yankees. Wow. They look
horrible. And wouldn't you know it when they did have
a chance to score a couple of runs, you know it would be
Drew taking his hacks......0-3. Will he ever break .200
BA? L A U G H A B L E !

Considering they just gave the stat that nobody on this team his hit Dickey all year in over 20 innings. I would say yes they do have some serious difficulty with the knuckle ball. You have reached the point with Girardi that if a light in the stadium went out you would blame him. Seriously change the channel on it already. It's well beyond tiring at this point.
