It's nothing short of an embarassment. They should be in that clubhouse and feel ashamed. They owe every paying fan for this series an apology.

and when the Jays and O's play each other (7 more games) it doesn't really help the Yanx as much as one might think, because on the days when the Jays and O's play each other, obviously there's gonna be a winner and a loser...and so depending on whether the Yanx win or lose that same day they are guaranteed to either gain no ground on one of them or lose a game in the standings to one of them.[/QUOTE
Or......the "other" possiblity- on days when the Orioles and Jays are playing, if the win- Yanks are guaranteed of gaining ground on one of those teams.
Listened to players post game interviews on River Ave Blues they don't seem overly concerned. Tex called it a bump in the road. Some bump there Tex.

The AL East Pennant will be resolved b/t these two teams. Why could Trashman NOT pick up any player by the trade deadline.....even a rental like Mr. Price, would of been nice.....
While I expet the usual sound bites I'd like to see some fire and anger after this disaster.
Here's what I say to Tex and the rest.................
The Jays came onto your home turf and showed you
what it's like to be taken to the wood shed and stripped
every bit of dignity you thought you owned. They left
the bones and dismantled anything resembling life.
Way to go......have a turning point road trip. Your home
stand sure sucked.
...I still can't get over Gardner getting hit in the head by a Yanx fan who threw back the Bautista HR ball...when it rains, it pours.
You wouldn't believe it if somebody told you. I'm sad that all I said going into this series was just don't get swept.
...I'm going with the mindset that the Jays have gotta cool off some and that the Yanx will awaken from their offensive slumber.
I'm sure it will happen but they really need to reflect on what the hell they allowed to happen in this three game series. I mean you would think they faced Koufax, Drysdale and Gibson this weekend. Give me a friggin break.
not like they blew the yanks away in any game, yankees have been playing good ball in last month, a bump in the road is all it is.. our pitchers did their jobs, while the hitters were on vacation...
would be nice to see yanks play a different way while strugglin offensively, but, like what i see on here bout PG comments from players, its a temporary problem that will be resolved, still in 1st, 3 games in loss column

...because it was not part of the iron clad preseason plan.

This "plan" everyone always seems to be finding fault with and bashing Cashman is - I believe - alluding to his statements about trying to have the Yanks getting YOUNGER and more ATHLETIC.
Now if "we" care to look at the regualrs who are under contract and were expecting or hoping to be in the starting lineup before the season began we see:
Ellsbury, Gardner, Tex, Beltran, Drew, McCann, Arod and Headley.
I'd like to see someone put their cards on the table and tell us which of THOSE
Now some wanted Prado instead of Headley, fair enough personal choice, but it still wasn't going to make the Yankees YOUNGER and more ATHLETIC....the Yanks were STILL going to need someone to play 2b or 3b if they chose Prado.
The one fault/problem I can see fairly is with STAYINGm with Drew instead of Refsnyder and I hope I'm wrong but, he has made 17-18 errors at AAA and I'm afraid he just MIGHT be too much of a liability and dangerous defensively to be used as a regular 2b and I would think he and the Yanks would be better served at this point to have him continue his regular "work" at AAA.
Next- Beltran. Some wanted (believe it or not) him to be the regular RF instead of Beltran as he was just promoted to AAA.
So far this year at AAA, 127 AB, .236 BA, 4HRs,15 RBI , 40 K, .706 OPS.
Any questions? lol
Next- the most glaring AND obvious "need"/replacement was SS afterJeter retired.
And as of now, in one of the most important preseason question marks- Cashman made a trade involving the almighty Dombrowski and acquired Didi Gregorius for Shane Greene.
Gregorius is presently batting .261, and - after his first two months (April, May) of struggling, he has made just 4 errors (10 total) as the everyday shortstop while Greene has 6.88 ERA and 1.54 WHIP.
Pitching? Younger?
Yanks started three pitchers in this series vs Toronto with an average age of 26 with Nova being the oldest at 28 (Jan) and these 3 SP pitched 17.2 IP with an ERA of 3.66 over the series.
Yanks used five pitchers today, none older than 27 and average age was 26.2!
This also included Chasen Shreve 25 yrs old, and Justin Wilson 27.
For the season:
Shreve- 2.06 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 47K in 47 IP (acquired for Banuelos)
Wilson- 2.43 ERA, 1.06 WHIP 43K in 40.2 IP (acquired for Cervelli)
Both have been effective vs LH and RH batters.
Just to keep up with the YOUNGER and more ATHLETIC "plan"....
Cervelli 29 yrs old, was replaced by John Ryan Murphy as the backup catcher.
Murphy currently has a .270 career BA and is batting .288.....
AND he's 24 years old.

Try getting on the "NY Yankees" site. Impossible.
The claim is that there is too much trafficking.
Yeah, I bet! Yankee fan base is over the edge.........LOL....
and I'd guess Boston fans are assaulting the bandwagon barrage. LOL

Hogwash. Even the 90's dynasty teams made key moves at the trading deadlines. And those were obviously much better teams than this current bunch.
...no worries, Girardi will surely beat his guys back into shape...that's his job.![]()
Not his babies!!!!! His MO is to go after an ump, so look for it
Bottom line, at the trade deadline Cashman sat around with his thumb up his ass while other teams improved. You can bet your nuts that the boss would have done whatever it took to get someone like Price.
