This one is on Yes. Fyi Yankees had a split squad today and won both. Yankees 9 Tigers 5, Tanaka 2 scoreless innings Sanchez with a HR. Yankees 4 Red Sox 3 Final in 7th Bird with 2 HRs. I guess because it was getting late. So they are now 5-1.
 
I'd love to see these games on TV here, more than a game a week, or if lucky two. I can't remember how long its been since I was looking forward to seeing ST games, with this many talented prospects.

Looks like this year will be like last for telecasts of ST games here, averaging 1-2 a week, or maybe a 3rd if they show it at 3 am. So, it doesn't really matter what I want to see, .... so I'll take what I can get, with no choice.

thankfully once Opening Day hits, its every game available, every team as well...

Can't remember how long its been since I checked daily box scores with a fervor, like this Spring. Reading box scores is like playing the cross word puzzle, when there is no game to watch on TV. Numbers mean little when one can't see what's happening, and how, why....
 
I've always believed that good springs bring better summers. Nice to see all that young talent that may wind up successful for many a coming season.
 
...^^^yeah, it's great to see Bird have a good game...I was concerned that he might not be able to return to form after his injury/surgery. Frazier is another youngster that I was not sure if he was ready but he looks really good so far...ditto for Gleyber Torres...and Kyle Higashioka is making his case for stealing the backup catcher spot from Romine.

...I'd really like for Cashman to find a way to trade a combination of 2 of either Gardner/Ellsbury/Headley in return for either a high future draft pick or even better, a solid starting pitcher...I know that would probably require eating some contract money but that's fine with me because IMO, that's a small price to pay in return for opening up 2 slots for 2 youngsters while at the same time shedding bad contract of undeserving older players.
 
Jaime Garcia for Atlanta and Bryan Mitchell for the Yankees. Joe probably won't have the Lineup until like 4:00. :lol:

Tho' I've only seen the first game of the year, and nightly highlights, it was great to see Judge going deep, hearing of his off season work, with follow up hits in games that followed. Bird, you expressed my same fear, so it was great to hear, see him breaking out ...
I know ST, can't draw much from, but during game 1, Bird looked off: like he wasn't coming in hot- ... yet, looks like he's found his mojo in a big way, I hope for good. All this/that changes overnight during ST.... I'm hoping for a big year out of Bird, Judge too, so we don't have to deal with Hicks, unless Hicks learns how to hit the damn ball with consistency....

Frazier has the look of a veteran, (tho' very young kid), who's playing amongst little leaguer's. Tho' he's yet to fill his bill imo, he will in due time, I believe. Wonder if he can play 3rd, and put Headley out of a job.

Higashiosaka, he looks comfy hitting, and behind the plate. Tho' he should for his years in the minors. I've got no qualms seeing Romine take a back seat further, but its only ST, anything can happen.

With Torres, and Frazier playing to expectations, the Yanx could off load Mateo and Andujar... as well as off Head-case...! More prospects.

I'd be elated to see Cashman get a proven gun SP, or other future high draft picks.

Looks like Holliday is picking up where he's always left off.....

One thing I was hoping for, but will not get (due to lack of ST game broadcasts) is to see Sheffield, Kaprielian- (will he be the same 93-95mph fastball starter he was at UCLA) , even Rumbelow- (will he dominate as a reliever as he did at LSU), and Niese how will both fit in our Bullpen.....did the Mets let a legit pitcher go?
 
Feyereisen & Hissong give up late inning bombs but the Yanks hold on to win. Good show.
 
Nice Starting Pitching and Offense for the Yankees, got a little rough towards the end but I will take the W.
